The problem as I recognize it from my own experience, is that we cannnot just read the Holy Bible or the Holy Qur'an. We have to put the words into guided practice through our lives. It is almost impossible to suddenly pick up one of the holy books and expect it to change our behavior without practice, daily practice. This is true with any kind of training or skill.
