A Letter to Mr. President
Dear Sir,
Yesterday, people from all over the globe watched you as you simply told you own story of Darfur..
I as a Sudanese living in Sudan am getting more confused day after day..
Wanting to believe you, for you should be our leader and our guide.. Wanting to believe you cuz your story is kinder to our hearts..
But we cannot deny and shut our ears from other sources telling us different stories..
We no longer know who is right and who is wrong..
But what we know.. is that people in darfur are suffering..
9,000 or 200,000.. The number doesn’t matter.. Even if it was ONE person suffering in any part of Sudan, its your duty to help and relief sons and daughters of Sudan.
Talking about the Aid agencies exaggerating the number of rapes.. We don’t care if its 1,000 girls who got raped.. we don’t care if its only one.. what matters that it is happening.. It is your duty to help those innocent girls.. 1 or 1000.. They all need your help..
We all don’t want the UN to enter Sudan through Darfur.. We don’t want another Afghanistan or another Iraq.. That’s why it is up to you to solve this issue..
Its in your hands..
We hereby kindly ask you and request you, to save our brothers and sisters in Darfur.. Arab or African they are all Sudanese.. They are all your responsibility..
We don’t want to hear different stories from here and there.. We want you to stand up and say the truth,, no matter how hard it is.. we will stand by you.. we will not let the UN, the US or UK to interfere in our matters..
Admit, confess then solve it.. with all the powers you have.. Assistance from the AU or the Arab countries if necessary..
Give us the TRUTH and we will back you up.. stand by you.. We will do anything to help our families in Darfur and to protect the land of our beloved country Sudan..
Help our people in Darfur.. anything else can be solved afterwards..
Everyday. every hour and every minute.. More girls are getting raped.. more children are dying…

How is a preson who is prosecuting a war throught he systematic commision of crimes against humanity that the UN has concluded are as bad or worse than genocide a smaller version of the same?
I think what Arash meant to say is “you have your own version of Ahmadinejad,” as opposed to a “less dangerous” version.
I wish more people were like you. Trying to solve the problem by yourselves with your countrymen rather than siding with another foreigner who have their own agenda… some Iraqis come to my mind.

I might have my differences with the Palestinians..but this is a different type of terror…this is Farenheit 451, this is true Nazism…this is an attack on the essence of freedom. This is book burning and mind burning. It is really really really bad stuff.
I agree with you on the seriousness of the issue, that’s why I made it into a seperate post. Most importantly I can REALLY relate to this.
The bats are out, beware of their fangs. They are blinded by the light and they will strike at anyone and anything.
There is one SURE protection, but the price you have to pay for that protection, probably seems the same or worse than if you joined the bats. I can’t say much more, because even I, Mr. Trying-to-be-holy, can’t quite give everything up….so I too suffer along with all the others.
It will probably get worse before the situation gets better. Maybe “a new race of men” must be born. You have to “lose” your life in order to regain it. There is a spiritual interpretation to this, but either way, it is painful ;-(

I know exactly what you are trying to say. Tension and depression and self-loathing are equal to the distance between your beliefs/values and your actually behavior.
It ain’t easy…esp. once you have responsibilities, kids, and others that need you out of prison or alive.
