Actually I have…even those that have never met an Israeli and never lived in “Palestine” vehemently hate us. Including my son’s high school buddy that asserted “the Jews have killed over 10 million Palestinians”, or the lady the other night in California, half-palestinian half-LEbanese (who never lived in either place) screaming “the Zionists want to call all the Arabs”. Man…that is a whole lot of killing we are intent on.

So…we will aruge this forever, but I do think the Arab side is far far more brainwashed to hate.

Even in rightist circles there is surprisingly little hatred taught. I have personally interviewed terror victims…I could not get hatred statements out of them…in fact all three said the same thing, “this should not happen to anybody”

Very true, but it is also Israel who is creating the atmosphere that is responsible for these kids on the other side who are being corrupted.

OK…that was tried in 48 and the agreement was not accepted…even though it was settled by the UN…but you know that. Then the 67 war led to annexation of what are now considered the territories.

48 and 67 were generation or 2 old. Give the new generation a try. Even groups like Hamas are hinting that they will drop that clause in their charter if Israel goes back to their original border.

Palestinians right to return is ludicrous, but under the Geneva Convention that Israel is a signatory of states that all refugees have the right of return to their original homes after a conflict.

Israel refused to let them in after the wars, so it’s falls on the Israelis to make some concession.

Maybe using the money America pumps into Israel to build homes for refugees in the territories might help. Forget about Israel, if the UN helps out, it can be solved, but who am I to suggest such things. America rather waste it’s money on wars, but can’t use that kind of money to solve the root cause of so many problems in the Middle East.

So groups like Hamas and esp. Islamic Jihad has clearly stated they will accept no agreement…heck let’s just start with IJ…sworn to fight it to the very end?

They won’t have people to recruit if people stop hating Israel. Above initiative can reduce it. It takes time for groups like IJ to disappear, it takes time. Look at America, you think it became so perfect after the civil war? It took so many years for the extremists elements to disappear. After centuries these extremists are still there. You can’t expect thing to go well over night in the Middle East either. Take baby steps instead of blaming each other like there is no tomorrow.

My son just finished high school in Israel. Like most public schools in the West, the education was VERY left leaning. Going back to my wife’s high school days, highly discriminatory and racist comments about Palesitians is not allowed.

I studied Hebrew in Israel for two years in public classes, some with Palesitinians attending…nothing is the curriculum that was racist, anti-Palestinian etc. Was history taught from a more Israeli persepective, of course, was the Palestinian side presented…yes it was…I was there.

But OK…but remember I said a just and balanced decision. Also…what do you do with say Islamic Jihad…who won’t accept ANY peace agreement, even those that Hamas has accepted. They have been firing missiles as Olmert and Abbas spoke together and Israel agreed, just now, to release 100 million dollars. Remember that the Palestinians, much like the Lebanese, have agreed to no central control and tend to respond with violence when they don’t like decisions…and that has often been directed at their own people.
