Sad that someone would be allowed to video tape this like this. From what I read on BBC, it seem like this is a mob lynching rather than an execution. On the other hand the pictures I seen reminds me of the picture I saw of hostages while ago, before their heads went missing.
A tyrant has been replaced by another tyrant. The way people support this kind of barbarism reminds me that even the so called moderates are still stuck several centuries in the past. Ohhh well, you live there, your life, stop complaining about your current rulers when you behave like them.
I thought BBC and other major news agencies were bigger than running snuff films on their networks. Although I may come off as a Saddam sympathizer, it’s true when I say it was wrong for the government (whoever was in control) to bring in some hecklers to shout out Muqtada’s name and taunt him at the time of the execution. CNN wrote on it’s website that Saddam’s last words were “Muqtada al-Sadr” when it was clear in the video that he was declaring the shahada. In the video, he repeated it quite clearly but…was lynched before he could finish. Why can’t those news agencies spend a little bit more on professional and unbiased translators instead of bring in a judge whose story contrasts markedly with those of other witnesses?
It seem that people seem to think in black and white, well nothing new there. When I say I am against Saddam being hanged, they assume I am his supporter. I can never understand this foolish logic, or rather illogic.
I always had respect for CNN and BBC, they always been more unbiased than some other news sources, but over the years they have been on a downward spiral.
Maybe they are trying to compete with al-Jazeera and FOX. What ever the reason, it is awfully shit.
It is very sad that he was killed on the day of muslims holy eid.He didnt die ,he is in every brave muslims soul and will always remain.
The official who took this video has been arrested, but no news service is keeping us up to date with how he’s going to be charged.
