Dirty Filthy Arabs
If there is one thing I desperately despise its dirty Arabs and I’m certainly not alone in that sentiment. The distain we all have for dirty Arabs was a significant topic following the sexual harassment free for all that occurred in Egypt during Ramadan celebrations this past Ramadan.
I wish I could tell you that the disgusting Arab type that grabs women on the street and violates their bodies are a minority of uneducated bums influenced by their surroundings and confined to the Middle East, but I cant. Tonight I concluded that not only have Dirty Arabs come to the United States but their filthiness has remained steadfast and uninfluenced by Western social standards of decency.
Tonight I was hanging out with a friend at my favorite Arabic coffee shop. I’m there regularly so as a result I am familiar with all the other regulars. Some of the regulars include 5 or 6 of the owner’s friends who sit at the same table day after day. Everyday is the same for these guys, they play cards, gamble, drink Johnnie Walker and loudly curse at each other in Arabic. By that description these guys might sound like a group of taxi drivers to you, however most of them are millionaires. They own shopping centers, jewelry stores, cell phone stores, auto body shops, limo services, car washes, night clubs, you name it.
Tonight a group of them, including the owner, were drinking pretty heavily and as the evening advanced they became visibly drunk. I didn’t mind because it was pretty entertaining, they were all cracking jokes and talking about each others mothers. Finally I was tired and we decided to leave, so I walked up to the waitress area to pay (I always walk up to the waitress table because the service there is excruciatingly slow, waiting to pay the traditional way could take an extra 45 mins.) While I’m standing waiting for the waitress to swipe my credit card, I see commotion near the door and a couple people trying to get the owners attention. The owner walked over and his drunk friends followed him.
There was a girl laying on the floor who had fainted and her friends were crowded around her trying to wake her up. A couple people grabbed a chair and placed her in it but she was still out cold, the drunk dirty Arabs found it hilarious though. Samir, a Jordanian millionaire, was laughing so hard that tears were cascading down his cheeks. After the laughter stopped Samir and his friend Farouk, an Egyptian millionaire, walked up to the girl and tried to “help†her. Samir grabbed the girls breasts and tried to slip his hand inside her shirt, when he stepped away Farouk grabbed her breasts, then put his fingers in her mouth and tilted her head back (rather violently) using the roof of her mouth for leverage. An American friend of the girl was the only one standing near at the moment and the look on his face was pure fear and shock! I’m sure he never thought that an unconscious girl could be fondled and violated in a public place in front of so many people. I’m not sure how many people saw it but by the time I walked over to her a waitress was tending to the girl and the drunk bastards were moving back to their table.
Unfortunately my friend found it funny too but he’s a scum bag. Ideally I would have liked a large blunt object at that moment that I would use to crush Farouk and Samir’s foreheads with. I hate dirty Arabs!

Hmmm… have you even been to a night club before? If you haven’t, go there and you’ll see white, black, brown, yellow guys doing the same shit.
Alcohol does things to people’s brain that they can’t control. Ban alcohol.
I agree with Jina completely. But you know the story of the frogs in the pot of water, they adjust and adjust and adjust, without even thinking about it. If the cinditions are life threatening they would be happily paddling around if the differences are changed gradually…..
One or two of my colleagues will finally scold me, for being a “self-hating American”. But really, I am not. I identify with my American side, but I pray regularly to evolve my spiritual consciousness. So there are people who will be content to enjoy their animal side. No one can force them to change. All of us from time to time overindulge…..but the question is, To what extent do we want to prepare our souls for the next world?”
Regarding this article, I think the message of Jina is also appropriate. Singling out Arabs, and since you are Egyptian, doesn’t really benefit the readers. Similarly if I rant about Americans. I can tell you stories of my past….but the purpose of those stories is to say that I am a fellow traveler on the same road as everyone else. and I feel I haven’t gone very far from the time I first started!!!!! Here in Japan, I am the “ugly non-Japanese” and I try to not let it bother me. I am trying to figure out a spiritual way to make the almost daily messages have the OPPOSITE effect on me….Still haven’t worked that out yet.
Edo, Jina.
I will tell you this, the frustration in this situation stems from the fact that this type of perverted behavior is too common among Arabs. Also like I have stated before, I dont talk about the problems of the middle east (and my people) because they are unique, I talk about them because I want something better for MY people. So while I’m fully aware that sexsual harassment exists amoung all cultures, thats not my department because I’m Egyptian and this is MID EAST YOUTH. You wont see me writing about sexsual harassment in china, I’m sorry.
You seem to think this type of behavior is normal because it happens in a night club (because thats what you sound like your saying) but this wasnt a night club, this was a well lit public place, there was no dancing, mutual drunkenness or scantily clad women etc. It was a grown man in his mid 40s groping an unconcious girl who was no older than 17 or 18 years old.
I dont like dirty perverted Arabs, they are extremely common in the Arab community and thats what these men were. So open your eyes, dont complain to me because I’m not beng politically correct
If you have not been witness to a specific problem among ARABS being excessively perverted then consider yourself lucky.
I’m with D.B on this one. This isn’t something about alcohol or “all men are perverts.” This is a problem deeply rooted amongst many Arabs, be it young or old. Maybe it has to do with our societies being sexually repressed.
Even if other countries suffer from similar pervertness, we speak from what we experience, and this is a common problem that has yet to be tackled.
I hate going out alone for the most part to places crowded with men (i.e, almost everywhere) because they will stare at you and make hideous perverted remarks that are really embarrassing. You can get the reaction in Egypt, in Iran, in Bahrain, wherever. Some places are worse than others. But the problem is there and it’s huge and it needs to be discussed.
This also has to do with the type of sexual terrorism that Lilo once talked about here, where she was having the same problems in Israel.
Did anyone call the cops? File a police report? If he touched that girl and she is under eighteen, he could be in big trouble.
Haha, as if they could do anything.
Hold on a sec, didn’t D.B say this happened in the States and NOT the Middle East, so calling the cops would have gotten the assholes in lots of trouble.
No, it’s too common among drunks.
Society being sexually repressed have lots to do with it, but at the same time alcohol also plays a huge part in it. When you combine both, well…
But what if we apply this to Arab countries where the majority of these men aren’t under alcohol’s influence when they react this way?
I’ve seen this happen way too often in co-ed schools, too, where lots of girls get raped or badly harrassed. Yet none of these boys are drunk.
I assure you, many of them don’t drink. Alcohol contributes but it is not the problem at all. These people are completely sober. If you come to the Arab world you will understand. They aren’t drunk, they’re just plain perverted. It’s their mentality.
I know that, it’s not just Arab countries. Pick a country in South Asia and it’s the same.
It’s because of that repressing sexuality thing that leads them to become perverted. That part of the world needs a Sexual Revolution.
Listen alcohol or not its wrong and drunks are NOT predisposed to being perverts, rather perverts who get drunk are more uninhibitted. The way you act when drunk is just a reflection of who you really are. Its unnreasonable to assume that drunks are somehow unable to control illegal behavior, try explaining that to the judge.
As far as calling the police, I’m afraid I dont know what happend after I left, maybe I should have done more but that is a call that anyone who witnessed the crime would have to consider.
Alcohol increases the chance.
No one is defending their actions. You take the risk when you drink. When you are drunk, chance of not being able to control yourself increases. That’s what alcohol does, it impairs your logic.
Alcohol being served in a coffee shop? Is that legal?
I’m with DB here. You find this kind of behavior among the more barbaric sorts in Algeria as well (especially young men). The cawing (Madam! Madam!)and groping is very common; it not uncommon to hear from Western (or Western looking/dressed) women that they have been “followed” by one or another jobless prick for the sake of being eyeballed. This is not a problem with alcohol, though I do believe that alcohol is overwhelmingly pernicious. It is a problem of culture. There is a lack of respect that is reflected in this behavior that is inexcusible under and circumstances, a night club, coffee shop, school, where ever. Perverts are perverts and are scum; Arab or otherwise.
Actually, it’s both in this case. Ones again I am talking about what happened in the this incident so stop taking it out of perspective.
Jina, its not a matter of taking it out of perspective, the story is intended to shine light on a greater problem. When we mention a problem in the middle east and among arabs (which is undeniable) It really doesnt matter if alcohol is present or not. look at it this way.
1. We all acknowledge that there is a lack of respect for women in the middle east specifically in regards to sexsual harrassment.
2. The men in this story are not genetically perverts BUT they have lived most of their lives in the middle east and this type of behavior is certainly common to them.
3. . These guys we’rent walking around like drunk zombies, yea they were drunk but I think your visual image of drunk is a Man walking around with his penis haning out of his pants and his arms streched forward ready to squeeze.
4. I Know these guys personally and I can say for a fact they are perverts.
with that being said, can you certainly state that they wouldnt have done what they did without alcohol. Jina, you sound like you have never drank before in your life, you seem to think alcohol possess some magical powers that it doesnt.
Not in my experience.
I never drank before, but I seen people go from humans to monsters because of alcohol. My father being one of them.
It’s not magic, it’s science, alcohol bio-chemically changes the make up of your brain.
Yes
To generalize in this measure is just stupid, sorry. I could maintain the same also from the sexually hyperactive Frenchmen, although these would take care that nobody watches. Jina is absolutely right. The only dirty thing here is alcohol.
Iblis, you don’t get it at all. For God’s sake, you got Arabs here saying this is something within the Arab mentality itself, are you really going to rely on your strict Western view? I’ve been to many places. I experience this mostly in the Arab world itself, so quit seeing the world through a narrow pipe and read between the lines here.
This is another generalization which is just as stupid as the one you’re claiming to refute.
IT’S NOT ALCOHOL.
IT’S A MENTALITY.
And it’s very common amongst Arab men. A specific kind. Not the usual “men are pigs” kind. It’s an Arab problem within an Arab world that not many people can specifically relate to.
There, all in caps. Please tell me you get it now.
Iblis, is talking about this incident, he/she/it is not generalizing anything.
You are wrong, it’s not an Arab thing, goto South Asia, South-east Asia and you’ll see the same, well these are the things I know of. Arabs are not special.
Kind of funny how you call him a friend and then end up by calling him a scum. Tell me something, what did you do? You just watched it and left and come to some blog and write like you are some how superior to them.
First of all, when someone faints, first thing that should come to your head is to call 911. You know, for all you know this girl had a heart attack or a stroke or something else. I just didn’t get the whole fucking situation from the start. Her friend? What is he a moron? Why the fuck didn’t he call the cops? How about the other who were there? How about you?
Your 1st insult.
Behaviours like this are not determined by how much education they have. I grew up with uneducated people; I am one, a grade 10 dropout. I worked with your so called uneducated people. Most of them immigrants from all over the world, many of them are Arabs. Yes, there are scums, the percentage is very low. At the same time, I can say the same thing for your so called “educated†people.
Your 2nd insult.
How about labourers sitting in a coffee shop with cab drivers swearing at each other in broken English?
Ever since I was 16, I worked in factories with these people and we get together after work to do the same shit. Some go to a bar to drink, or some go to a coffee shop to drink coffee (like me who was under aged at that time, but most were Muslims, it was a Muslim/Me thing every Fridays) and have a conversation about how shitty our lives are and how wonderful it was back home.
I seen people behave with decency when they are at a coffee shop, but become little monstrous when they are drunk.
Simple no? Get out in the “real†world, you might learn something important.
These insults directed at me because I am them. I hope this have been an educational experience for you. Never ever group people up like this.
You disrespect me and you have the audacity to say I disrespect you? Respect is a mutual understanding between people. I only show respect for those who respect me.
LOL, bro you have picked out the satirical portions of my post and accused me of using insults. I have choosen to make fun of the “characters” I have no apologies
That’s not funny because, that’s not satirical for me, that’s reality.
I been called all that through out my early teen to my adult life. Not funny.
Typical asshole reply. I was hoping something, but it seem like you are just like those pricks.
How is degrading hardworking people equals to making fun of those jerks? Seem like your ignorance is beyond anything I can comprehend.
Have fun.
Come on, let’s be reasonable here.
Its official, Jina is a certifiable troll, maybe you would feel more at home being an asshole on LGF or elsewhere.
why was this girl you mention at the arab coffee shop anyway. if the girl you say was drunk and doesn’t like arabs she shouldn’t go to arab coffee shops.
I never said the girl was drunk or disliked Arab and its a place where alot of americans go so she is more than welcome to go there. I dont know where you got all that info.
You should be ashamed of yourself. That article is not an exercise in the right of self-criticism or a constructive observation on youths and their drunkan practices – as you tried later, and quite miserasbly, to cover up for it. It is slanderous, abusive and invites racial hatred.
You are one and the same of your billionaire friends – whom you are desperately trying to dissociate yourself from. Perhaps the only difference is that they violated a hapless girl, and you’re violating a whole nation. Birds of feather, flock together. If you think they are the scum of the world, I don’t know what that makes you.
Furthermore, you are mouthy and a coward .. or a mouthy coward. How come you never ran to the assistance of the hapless girl?
And, so you are better how????
You are a disgrace to mankind and to your country.
Go read a book or something and try to do something useful.
So you think it’s offensive, racist, and abusive for people to be disgusted by members of their own societies for doing certain things?
God bless us all if this horrific form of clueless nationalism continues, where we can’t once express our PERSONAL OPINIONS without dealing with a horde of sensitive self-important Arabists who are offended by everything in existence.
Here’s a thought:
We are going to criticize ourselves and each other and if you think it’s so racist and offensive, too bad. Narrow nationalism often leads to extremist behavior which we wholeheartedly oppose. If you can’t actually refute the arguments provided, don’t bother posting. We’re not interested in personal attacks. We want intelligent opinions. Come back and when you have that to offer.
You have no &%$£ing clue what you are talking about. If you have read my comment carefully, you’d see that I did not – at any point – say that the Arabs are above criticism. Are you so blind not to see that brandishing a whole nation – in this case the Arabs – as “Dirty and Filthy” – while under the false guise of “self criticism”, is exactly what feeds on the prejudices in the West against the Arabs?
Name-calling is a form of abuse, incidentally. Look it up! And if you were in this country, you would be sued for that.
While you think you are practicing “democracy”, you are in fact being prejudiced – and sladerous, abusive and offensive – against the very same people you think you are helping. Look these words up, they might come in handy one day.
You don’t know shit from pudding and if I was your boss, I’d fire you today.
Sienna’s argument in a nutshell:
“You are a disgrace.”
“You should be ashamed.”
Repeat process throughout useless comment.
Did you even bother reading the post? Did you?
He was calling CERTAIN ARABS dirty and filthy. He himself is an ARAB. Where did he refer to the ENTIRE Arab race as dirty and filthy?
And by the way, Arabs are not a nation. We all come from very different nations. Arabs are diverse, and in this particular post, he is talking about a minority of Arabs categorized under “dirty and filthy” because guess what? He came across such people and decided to write a post about it! OMG!
An excellent example being you calling the author a “mouthy coward.” What a hypocrite.
If someone as ignorant and whiny as you was my boss, I’d hang myself.
You need to buckle down and read the comment policy (am I giving you too much credit here by assuming you’re even literate?)
So far you have not made a single effort of refuting the argument at hand which you completely misunderstood and instead of attempting to understand the author’s perspective in a civil manner you resort to giving the author an unpleasant, bitchy attitude that is so typical of self-important people in denial. So my suggestion to you is this: grow up.
Whatever. Ignorance is a bliss. May you revel in it!
Wow. I am in utter awe of your ability to churn up carefully constructed, brilliant arguments. Seriously, kudos.
Come back when you have something worthwhile to say and when you have the balls to say it with some respect, k? Thanks.
an amazing Arab feminist organization that might be a good resource, they deal with harrassment and abuse.
Those bastards harrasing her should die lonely and painful deaths,Godfather style:
1st guy gets blown away by shotgun
2nd guy gets shot on the eye
3rd guy gets shot on the door
4th guy gets machine-gunned to death
5th guy gets shot on to death on his way to work or the bar
6th guy gets stabbed on the throat
D.B
If I was there I would guard her, fight for her, I would shield her at any cost untill she gained consciousness, untill she was in the right hands. I would do that even though I am a woman, a mother of two kids, I would fight like a man.
An incident like this which is common by some Arabs has been published ,that is great and needs great applaud and respect. Yet Esra has commented ,and I quote:
” This is a problem deeply rooted amongst many Arabs, be it young or old. Maybe it has to do with our societies being sexually repressed.I hate going out alone for the most part to places crowded with men (i.e, almost everywhere) because they will stare at you and make hideous perverted remarks that are really embarrassing. You can get the reaction in Egypt, in Iran, in Bahrain, wherever. Some places are worse than others. But the problem is there and it’s huge and it needs to be discussed.”
It sounds like Esra is an Arab descendant herself, yet she has the audacity to comment about the Persians or Iran and generalize about our culture. Esra In middle east ,there are three nations which are not ARAB .1-Persian 2-JEWS 3-TURKS ,so next time you sit and generalize about your community and culture don’t drag other people into it ,as I assume you probably have not even visited any of the above non ARAB countries and don’t have adequate information about their cultures .

Send these monkeys back home!
okay so i agree, arabs aare pervs!! i was with a few of my friends one night and there was like 7 arabian men sitting there and one took a picture of us. then the other night i was with some more friends and one kept telling me to come here; with his finger, he then got up and grabbed my arm and told me to come with his finger again and sat down. the cops came and he had no green cars or ID or anything, i think they need to go back to where they came from and stay out of here!
This incident is pretty common in sexually repressed societies and yes Islamic societies have this problem in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt, Yemen or Britain’s/India’s muslim communities. I would add that apart from Islamic societies, even repressed Hindu, Buddhist communities etc show the same feature although at not such great proportions. I have been to middle east and seen the way girls are talked about amongst men and the strange fascination towards the female body… its sometimes very funny as if a bunch of 8 year old boys are talking about girls! To tell you the worst I saw was elsewhere, in the city of Hyderabad in southern India that has a majority muslim population. A large part of the community are 5th to 8th generation Arab treasury guards/personal body guards(migrated during the rule of a muslim king) who have made strong, isolated, muslim dominated areas showing typical trends of middle east.
And boy if you could have heard the translations of the guys chattering in these communities! 70% of their chat consists weird, alien concepts about sex and I wouldn’t say a bull could show desperation I have seen there!! While on our way to the IT power hub on the northern suburbs of the city(Bangalore is another power hub of IT in India), my Yemeni Arab descent(‘Chaoosh’/Shawesh as he called it) taxi driver was slowing down near 2 girls riding a sports bike(not seen much in India) and staring at them while chewing tobacco with a sick smile and his eyelashes generously smeared with black kohl! The whole look on his face spoke volumes.. I can’t type the things he said about these girls & the gestures he made towards them! But yes, he did say that all those women who move out of their homes to work are who*es!
When we stopped at a drug store to get my prescription, he was busy smiling & peeping over a young girl’s shoulder while she purchased products of feminine hygiene…
Another part of this experience was the after work office talk amongst few muslim boys that I overheard. While they spoke their Daccani urdu outside, english was the norm in the office. Can you imagine 21 year old boys discussing that until a girl bleeds & cries on the first night of the wedding and squirms/shudders in the bed with pain, she isn’t a virgin & can’t be ‘enjoyed’!! Their long conversation showed that they knew nothing of a female and imagined theories to each other! This was nothing less than shocking and I couldn’t imagine whether they were ever educated at all!! Well, they had notices served to them the next day.
What the hell is going on with these people? Don’t their community leaders or ‘wisemen’ realize that the men brought up in such freakish environment are almost on the verge of becoming Rapists or Psychos?
Is it normal to have the genders secluded to such an extent that they treat each other like aliens from another planet?
Thanks for writing this. it’s worse in FRance – this happens all the time, and unfortunately it’s not the French who do it. I can’t walk home without being harassed or groped.
Shame you didn’t grow a set of balls and challenge them. it’s much easier to pretend you didn’t see it, and suck it down, and continue to give your money to these millionaires who grope unconscious girls.
Try to behave as I do, and challenge wrongdoing when you see it. If you’re so crazy about it, you should have done so instead of slinking home with your tail between your legs and writing about ‘dirty Arabs”.
