This is truly shameful. I can’t call it anything but inconsiderate mockery.

I assure that the guy who did this was sincerely thinking about promoting Islam.
It baffles me when certain Muslims (and those same self-proclaimed ‘Islamic experts’) think that specific details of our dear Prophet’s life actually matter. People try to find out things that don’t have to do with Islam, and have no relevance whatsoever to our lives. As if we’re all going to slap our lamb pieces on the same side of the plate because “the Prophet did that too!”
And some of these don’t even make sense, he was asked to recite the Koran while riding? Riding what?
As a Muslim, I only ever feel insulted when fellow Muslims do this, especially when it’s not meant to be satirical at all. They need to stop obsessing over these silly details, and start interpreting the Koran the way it’s actually supposed to be interpted while maintaining respect for our Prophet by not making Islam revolve around his personal lifestyle. The example you’ve posted above is just one reason why Islam has become so easy to insult, and as a result, even Muslims begin to take it less seriously.
As a believer in the Prophet, with a capital “P”, my opinion is first, it is wrong to criticize someone for something taken out of context of the class. I could see these questions being used in elementary school…. to show the human side. However I also am uncomfortable with the wording of the questions… I don’t think these are harmful. After all young children are facinated by the workings of the body. All the Prophets had human bodies. I don’t think questioning any of these ideas is wrong. There should always be a certain level of respect included.
If these are univ. students, I readily admit my ignorance of the hadiths, and I am only about 30% finished with reading the Qur’an. So, I would add that if these answers are not in the Qur’an then interpreting these answers is not the same as what is written. If it is not written specifically, then for alot of these questions, I would say they are not important enough to be tested, all this information or lack could be summarized into an ranking and discussion/short answer question; Something like: Of the following topic which your teacher has mentioned has been discussed by Qur’anic scholars in the past, group them as either being ‘Trivial’, or ‘Worthy of discussion’. Then write a defense of your categorizing scheme.”

I agree with you. About the part regarding “riding”, it is “riding a horse”.
EdoRiver,
These questions are asked from teachers, as a mandatory step before their promotion.
WTFish??!! This is lunacy!
this is nonsense to be asking these kinds of questions and thinking no one would have a problem with it they should be ashamed.
