Let the Propaganda Begin, Or "Norooz 2007"

Recently, Esther literally ordered Iranian bloggers to,
If the media is not interested in presenting this [humanistic] image of Iran, there is no reason why those of us in Iran cannot. I would like to see as many people as possible go out during the Norooz [also written as "norouz", the Iranian new year, March 20th/21st] holidays and take pictures. Upload your pictures and tag them “Norooz 2007″. That’s an order…;-)
So, here it comes the first Norooz post. This is a picture from the festival of designing Norooz cards. More pictures here.

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love them all,…………..the pictures I mean..(Heavens, I wouldn’t know what to do if they were all our daughters
You know BBC has a “This week in pictures” and so does CNN, etc. I spent some time studying the 12 pictures…. In 2 cases, I think you should print in black and white, in one or two I think “the lines” of the objects, etc. are not quite pleasing. In another, #12 maybe there is too much of the girl’s outline in black without detail…but still, there were 4 pictures I liked, and I couldn’t exactly explain why I thought one was better….this is sad, because in college I took 2 semesters of photography from a fairly well known US photographer, and I lived in his garage apartment….(uh oh another story). So I should be able to give you some detailed reasoning for you to either agree or disagree with, based on light, lines, mood, shape, use of space, any more??
One thing I remember, is that if you look at ALOT of published photographs from the masters of the craft, and as you go to museums with photo exhibits, you get a sense of what makes a photo really stand out. My old prof, said that if he got one outstanding photo out of a roll of 36 shots, he was very satisfied. I tend to go to the opposite extreme, I would pass up alot of shots, trying to find the better, not perfect shot, hoping to have a greater percentage when the roll was eventually developed.
So, maybe I come back to your picture posted here, #2. I would like to see more detail, as far as pixil density to look at the patterns of the water color in the tray, and to see in more detail her picture, I would like to see a variety of shots from different points of view of her desk, to choose the best. In looking at these 12, I like #5 and #6 too, and I like #11, But maybe I choose #2.
THANK you Thank you. for taking and sharing the pictures.
