Photography in Bahrain

February 25th, 2007Layal (Bahrain)

A week ago I went to the local flea market; souq el mokasees. I realized how a lot of people get intimadated by my camera. They literally hide from me. It is like I am playing freaking hide & seek. Anyways, I secretly managed to sneak fotos of random people. I am usually shy in public, so I still haven’t gotten to the point where I would ask people to take fotos of them, or just do it without even caring what they say. Anyways, here goes:

He was quite surprised when he saw me. All i did then was look at the ground and walk away, and I tell you, boy am I growing some incredible guts. :D

He was eating nuts out of his pocket, and looking around, it was like he didn’t want anyone to steal it. Quite a funny scene.

He was selling peanuts.

quite an interesting junk store. i bought beautiful bangles that date waay back.

Random fotos:

On Tuesday, I went to Beit Al Quran (house of quran) for the first time ever. It’s a really beautiful place. This is the ceiling.

A happy mistake.

  10. Hello Layal,

my compliments on your pictures! You have some very beautiful shots there. My favourite is the one with the legs and feet hanging in the air over the mattress… looks like somebody is dreaming and hovering in their sleep. Very nice!
