A Nuclear Surprise Might be on the Way

Author: Kamangir (Iran) - April 8, 2007

Evidence presented last year to “prove” that the Islamic Republic had successfully enriched Uranium in experimental scales. The text on the rods, which are now kept in Imam Reza Shrine Museum, reads “UF6 3.5 enriched”. Read the whole story here.

Following the early announcements that the Iranian administration will soon have good news to say about its nuclear program, three days ago, Bahonar, a high-ranking pro-Ahmadinejad MP, said “in three month we will successfully carry out the whole enrichment process”. In a related news, Fars reports that Ahmadinejad will open the celebrations for the national day of nuclear technology in Natanz nuclear facilities. Last year these days, the Islamic Republic suddenly announced that they have completed the experimental enrichment procedure. The proof was a suitcase and the two rods shown in the above. Some reports suggest that the Islamic Republic may announce a temporary suspension of its nuclear activities, after a joyful announcement of the like Bahonar is speaking of. For more details on last year’s events see here.

Uh oh, the Bush administration and Israel are just going insane over this!

What do you think Arash, will they use it?

  • I hope Iran gets the nukes asap. We can move on… sigh. Look what happened to DPRK, they get nukes and now no one talks about em. Pakistan was in the similar situation while back. As long as you have a nukes, we the bullies in the West will shut up.

I don’t think they will use it, it’s just something to threaten others with. Because others, namely the US, already do that.

  • I agree with Esra’a here. Nukes have some become the security standard these days. Instead of proving to be weapons of mass destruction, they have in fact proved useful in avoiding mass destruction. Countries with nukes are not bullied by the west.

However, it still beats me when US pressurize countries to stay non-nuclear, because US was among the first ones to make it, carries the largest pile of it, and the only country to have used it on humans.

  • Exactly guys, I have yet to hear news about DPRK ever since they tested their nuke. US almost stopped demanding things from them. If Iran gets the nuke, Israel will shut up, US will shut up and put stupid sanctions like ban any nuclear technology transfer like they did to India and Pakistan. Not like it’s gona hurt the Iranians considering they developed their nukes almost with no help from the West. Only problem will be if they go all crazy and sanction Iran like how they did to Iraq, then that’s another story. Hope it won’t come to that.

Bring peace, MAD will. Crazy it may sound, but it is the truth.
