Americans dont know the historical , cultural or religious factors that lead to the sunni/shiite conflict but they sitll have to stay there to secure the region and work with the iraqs to establish good powerful police force. They keep doing that lol:) The US govt intends to export democracy to all nations but most of the time, it doesnt work so they end up messing things up. Now, I don't think that anything the US is doing is helping, but walking away only says to the world, "Hi. We're the US. We go in and ruin people's countries. Then leave." Not a great message to reinforce. Not that I have any great answers for a solution....
