Yoni has been removed from this site permanently
May 23rd, 2007Yoni has been removed from this site permanently, but his IP is not banned because we don’t know his IP. He’s good at hiding it. All the posts he made so far will stay as they are and any one will be able to comment on them.
Here are reasons for his removal.
1. He is not an Israeli. We are not even sure if he’s a Jew or has any relevant connection to the Middle East.
2. He is using an e-mail that he never replies to after we tried to get in contact with him for over a month now.
3. The email he uses is from an Arabic e-mail service site, raising some suspicion with us. He does not appear to know any Arabic.
And here is the kicker:
4. Yoni, is behind over 93+ proxies, a person who is trying to hide his or her identity usually stay behind 16-20 proxies to avoid detection by authority.
5. Why is a Jew living in UK, well that’s what he told us, using this many proxies?
6. The 93+ is a short list, I tracked him to 93 servers before I gave up, and I spent over 4 hours doing this manually. This is not fun at all. I had to do this because of the complaints we got about this guy.
7. Here is some interesting information, only a hacker, a government agent or a corporate agent would use this many proxy to hide themselves before transferring important data or before getting ready for an attack. I also don’t even remember a hacker going this far with this many servers. Yoni definitely has something to hide; otherwise, a Jew living in UK would not need to go this far. We have to know who is posting with us, we definitely don’t know who this guy/gal is and he failed to contact us back after we tried so hard to contact him for a month.
Security is very important to us, so bye bye Yoni.
PS: Yoni can always reply to our e-mails explaining his situation and why he is ignoring us and we’ll reconsider this.

What’s interesting is that I sent his login information via the forums, never via e-mail.
The bottom line is this:
If you don’t trust us, we don’t trust you.
Come clean Yoni if you want to continue posting here. Who are you, where do you live, and what are your connections to the Middle East?
the plot thickens…dun dun dun
One more thing, majority of these proxy servers he use are in AFRICA. WTF? Usually the proxy servers are located in Europe/US/Canada. This is just freaking weird.
I feel like we’re in X-Files.
Don’t worry guys. We can still read Yoni’s dispatches at the website of the Israeli foreign ministry or on memri.org. His message will live on.
I’m actually shocked Mideast Youth let it go this far…
He’s an automatic posting-machine
We made a poll about his removal before. People were complaining about this site being biased and doesn’t respect free speech, so we decided to give him another chance.
We like to give many chances before a decision like this is made. He never took any of these chances, so we had no choice but to remove him.
I’ve never seen him react in any of the claims made against him on the forum. That’s a “tad” strange….
Not that I have any more information…but there is a powerful campaign to improve Israel’s image in forums like this, it happens both at the grassroots and governmental level. It’s not necessarily sinister, it just means that someone has a vested interest in influencing the kinds of messages people get about Israel and the Middle East.
In choosing to allow his posts to remain, MEY should consider doing a sample google test and seeing if you search for some of the topics he’s written on (i.e. Palestinian Israeli bus drivers) if MEY comes up. I would like to suggest flagging his posts with a marker that notes that Yoni has been removed and linking to Jina’s explanation, so if one of Yoni’s posts is someone’s first exposure to MEY they are made immediately aware of what has transpired.
Miriam, very good point. I will edit his posts to include that.
We traced propaganda bots before which were directed to softwares that the Israeli foreign ministry is using to improve Israel’s image – I posted a link here somewhere, I’ll recover it later. It was especially popular during the Israel/Lebanon war the past summer. Our comments were flooded, which is weird, because our traffic count at the time was low. I had to manually check each one before a friend finally discovered the EXACT same comments were being duplicated across the Arab blogosphere. We later found out why that was, and even TIME magazine had an article about this.
We deleted and banned what we later found out was bots crawling on our blogs and message boards, randomly displaying links that is full of good information about Israel. Yoni seems to be one of those. It’s really disgusting to know that Israel is that desperate. I honestly don’t understand why they have to go to this extent.
We’ll keep this in mind for next time.
So let me get this right, Yoni was one of these governmental bots trying to create a positive image about Israel but still couldnt refrain from an israeli racial superiority complex?! LOL
“We traced propaganda bots before which were directed to softwares that the Israeli foreign ministry is using to improve Israel’s image – I posted a link here somewhere, I’ll recover it later.”
Shit! Are you freaking serious?
This sounds like some good conspiracy theory to me. But it isn’t. Lovely!
Yup. I’ll find and post the links tonight if anyone here requires proof.
Next time this happens, please slap me if I don’t take it seriously. Thanks Yaman for bringing this to my attention.
I did more investigation and found out that this is a spam harvester, a bot. Damn… it sure was fucking convincing… AND it is from the Israeli government or some genius hacker trying to promote “positive” view of Israel to Arabs by somehow insulting the Arabs, hence DB’s “So let me get this right, Yoni was one of these governmental bots trying to create a positive image about Israel but still couldnt refrain from an israeli racial superiority complex?! LOL”.
I couldn’t stop laughing at the stupidity of their propaganda campaign. Even they programmed the bots to be arragont… >.> Didn’t know the Israeli government paid attention to this site… makes us feel special now… but any who, the IP will also be banned now.
I am making the IP available for anyone else wishing to track this fucker down.
198.54.202.246
196.25.255.246
Two more IPs,
165.145.245.58
198.54.202.26
There are more, almost all his posts/comments have a unique IP. This is not normal.

damn…
YONI! Some reaction?
FYI; he didn’t even reply to the poll we made regarding his removal. Super weird.
Anyways, one less asshole/bot to worry about. We recently added at least 5 more authors who will do more than a better job at replacing him.
[...] is a slap in the face to all who defended Yoni when we found out about his true rotten self before the rest of you. Some of you complained (cluelessly, I might add) [...]
