Gonu Storm
I thought I should write about the weather for a change! 
Gonu storm is getting close to the Arabian Peninsula, it is going to hit our southern neighbor Oman tonight then move on to the Emirates and the Eastern region of Saudi Arabia including our neighbor Bahrain in the coming three days.
Oman army and police are on high alert, they called on people living in areas of high risk to leave before the cyclone reaches land, Oman’s weather service warned of winds of 185 km-205 km (114-128 miles) per hour causing high waves reaching 10 meters in height.
U.A.E weather officials do not think it is a cause of any alarm, since it might reduce in speed by the time it hits the Emirates.
Coming to the second part which I find so amusing..
Why is it that people here (Saudi Arabia) always associate weather with social behavior and religion?
When ever we have a drought, people associate it with leading immoral and corrupt lives, we are bad Muslims and for those sins we are being punished by God! Hello..We are living in a dessert!!! It is supposed to be hot and dry.
Does that mean God is happy with the Europeans for instance? they must be doing something right to have lovely weather!

And about the other subj. yeah I hear that a lot, especially when an earth quake hit India once, a teacher of mine was like… Yeah all that is happening to them because they worship statues and whatever! WTF?? It’s all part of nature, they’re in an active area, shut up!

I agree with you Rashs at some points , But I really need to remind you that we can’t deny the truth that People get punished by god for so many reasons (bad ones ) wheather in the past or recently , It doesn’t really matter if they were punished in life or later on after death .. It’s all about believing that punishments exists in life and they may have nothing to do with any kind of coming storms ( Guno ie ) or whatever ..
Don’t get things mixed , Phnishments exist , and they will always do ..
Regarding european’s lovely weather as u mentioned , Who said that punishments have to be related with the weather ? they might be effecting people happiness , or anything else related to their lives .. and they may never get punished !

I didn’t know such hurricans (grade 5!) could happen in Persian Gulf region.
Actually everyone should start realizing that we are facing a major problem GLOBAL WARMING.. that is something all countries should take seriously.
Earth is heating up, human activity has “very likely” been the driving force in that change over the last 50 years said the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Can you imagine how that might affect agriculture, economy and us in the end?
Mountain ice peaks are melting, Russia had a snowless winter this year which was quite alarming.
The signs that point to global warming are spread of disease, sea level rise and coastal flooding, heat waves, heavy snowfalls and flooding, plant and animal population change.. and much more..

I’ve read some updates about this storm, apparently the core of the storm will head north into Iran and Pakistan, simply passing by (storming) Oman, Saudi, UAE, and Bahrain. That’s according to what I’ve read, so if we’re ever swimming for our lives in the middle of this storm, don’t say: F**K BUSAC FOR SAYING IT WON’T HIT US!!
Storms are expected here on the 9th and 10th according to weather.com.
Insha’allah no permanent damage is done to any of those countries, and best of luck for anyone in it’s way.
It was raining hard in Bahrain a couple of days ago. That is the weirdest thing ever. We hardly get rain throughout most years, least of all during the summer!
It rained here twice last week. this is the 1st time for us too. But isn’t that artificial rain.
Scientists here have been messing around with the clouds.. making Rain.. as if we need more chemicals in our systems!
Artificial rain… that still beats acid rain! Iraq right now is of course due to the war the number 1 most polluted country in the region (and amongst the top in the world), Kuwait is amongst the first in the entire region, and now thanks to our aluminum factory and trash burnings, Bahrain is quickly rising to be amongst the first few as well. UAE and Qatar keep doing things that are WAY beyond their environmental capabilities… especially the UAE with its many fake islands that already strangled the marine environment, and now moving onto the weather.
So what can I say Rasha… other than WE’RE DOOMED! I wish we had more people knowledgeable about the environment for us to lead an environmental campaign.

The main sin we people in the world have done is making our earth polluted.Global warming is direct conclusion of rising CO2 persentage in the atmosphere. and the recently happened storm like Gonu is caused by the global warming.
any way Gonu changed it`s way to north of Oman Sea and Iran land. Hormoz stright and Persian Gulf now are in danger and what is important for the industrial world is not peoples life but OIL EXPORTING through Persian Gulf and Hormoz stright!

Actually.. that was mentioned in the news.. Gonu storm is hitting the Gulf.. but don’t worry guys OIL is not affected!
I do wonder what will happen to us (middle east) one day when we have no more oil.. how can we survive that? Are our countries making plans in case that happens? I don’t think so.

According to a recent talk about the beak oil theory, some people think that the world has already reached the peak oil production. However, some other people say the peak oil production has not yet reached and it might be 20 to 40 years from now.
Both of the two groups have their own assumptions about the factors influencing their estimation, however, I think that the second group is more realistic in their assumptions.
