CASMII attack Iranian Human Rights hero
The Islamic Republic agents and apologists CASMII (Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran) strike again!
This time it is a poor attempt by Mr. Pourzal who has gone further than the expected attack on ex political prisoners of Iran, to focus his attack on the human rights activist and hero Nazanin Afshin-Jam.
Is it not interesting that a self pro-claimed “organizer for human rights” (!) has written an article attacking Nazanin, calling her a fraud?!
Let’s first just go over who Nazanin Afshin-Jam is and what she has been doing.
Coming from a persecuted family during the Islamic Revolution, threatened with execution, her family moved to Europe. In her teenage years she got her pilot license from the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, before going to university to study Double Major Degree in International Relations and Political Science.
Throughout her university life, Nazanin volunteered for humanitarian charities and organisations such as Red Cross. She found the opportunities to enter the Miss Canada and Miss World competitions as an excellent chance to find a much bigger platform to promote her ideas and voice. She won the Miss Canada title and became the 1st runner up to Miss World.
This amazing woman who is by all means a true symbol of inspiration and pride for not only Iranians but girls and women all over the world, has since spent her time helping victims from tragedies such as the tsunami in India and Sri Lanka, raised funds for earthquake victims in Bam (Iran), Ethiopia, and campaigned for women’s rights in Middle East, and other issues all over the world.
She has gained huge popularity among Iranians and all human rights organisations for her efforts to make known the case of another Nazanin, a teenage girl in Iran who was sentenced to death for killing her rapist in defense, and by attracting world wide news agencies to get her voice heard she literally saved her life from the inhuman Sharia courts of Islamic Republic. For her efforts, she received “Hero for Human Rights” award from Artists for Human Rights / Youth for Human Rights International at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Now, in an article called “With Defenders Like Nazanin, Who Needs Enemies?“, Rostam Poorzal, a board director of CASMII, friend of Abbas Edalat, has called her a fraud, for simply having a photo of herself with two other human rights and democracy activists Amir-Abbas Fakhravar, former political prisoner and a leader in Iranian student movement and former Shah’s son who no longer calls himself the crown prince.
I have nothing to say but that I told you so. Stop the war coalition and “activists” such as CASMII have done nothing to promote human rights situation of Iran, yet they claim to be “Human rights organizers” and they spend their time promoting the criminal and terrorist Islamic Republic and spreading false propaganda against true human rights and democracy activists in the diaspora. Shame on CASMII, and shame on all those who know about this fraud organisation and are still associated with them.

Amazing article man! Good job! I hate people who like to control everything, that guy is so sick, they all work for the same causes, and cases, how would he do such a thing, ow would he be a human rights activist and attack a political prisoner, he’s such a fraud and hypocrite! I went to Nazanin’s website, she has a really great voice, I wonder where I could buy her CD from?
Thanks a lot Joseph! they don’t work for the same thing though. CASMII is there just to defend Islamic Republic against anyone who (God forbid) talks bad about IR! Nazanin on the other hand has been promoting the unbelievable human rights situation in Iran who CASMII believes is comparable to that of US!
She does have a great voice and she has a song that you can watch the video for here on youtube, not sure if her album is released yet?
Yes her album “Someday” has just been released in Europe and the USA. Someday, from the one time I heard it, seems to be about the Iranian Revolution. I don’t remember the lyrics exactly but she was pushing for a “progressive revolution” instead of sticking with the results of such a “regressive one.” It’s very youthful, and does a good job of promoting activism. A very “let’s do it!” type of song.
On her MySpace blog she also dedicates her thanks to everyone who cyber campaigned for Nazanin’s cause, encouraging them greatly and saying that activism does work, no matter where or who you are. That is by far one of the best ways to inspire people like us to keep it up. That case gave me a lot of hope. Especially when I saw pictures she posted of a free Nazanin…
This is not the first time I hear someone attacking her – everyone is saying she is doing this for fame and her own ego, which is so absurd! This lady is truly hard working and she understands the value of using her status and talents to promote and help the causes she believes in. And to justify human rights abuses by comparing them to the “US” or anywhere else is just sad. One of our biggest mistakes here is that people always say “while it’s bad, the US goes through worse,” making us ignore some of our biggest human rights violations or poverty cases. It doesn’t matter who else is guilty of them – as long as WE are, it’s OUR responsibility to change it, no one else’s. And we have no reason whatsoever to excuse it.
I support her entirely and pity anyone who refers to her as a traitor, a fraud, or self-important, because unlike her they are the ones who did nothing to appease human rights issues.
Who would make such efforts just to sell her CDs and books, thats just stupid! this blog obviously rises from jealousy (Rostam Pourzal’s)!
I must add that what nazanin did was not announced on Iran’s TV, just some newspapers wrote briefly about it.
but guys it’s not a new thing here! If you are a “real human rights organizations” they’ll arrest you in a blink of an eye! so if they managed to survive (CASMII) till now, be sure that there’s something shady going on!
I actually haven’t heard of CAMSII I’ll check it out right now. but reading Pourzal’s article I basically got the notion that he’s like this: just another of the many anti-monarchists who are so blind in their anti-monarchy hate that they refuse to open their eyes to see the changes, some good they’ve done and a benefit of doubt.
hate gets us no where nad whats worse is to see people who have lived in countries like the States where tolerence is promoted, still believe in thise hate-filled nonesense.
Pouyan, so what exacly do you think might be the shady part? I think I agree with you but I didn’t quite understand.
Activism ROCKS!

With Friends like Pourzal and CASMII who needs enemas.
As a urologist I see many variations of male appendage. However, I have to say that the most amazing and amusing display of human manhood was presented by our good friend Dweeb Purzal. Anatomically from the tip of his head to the toe of his shoe this yahoo is a balanoposthitis.
