Hate on Facebook
I use Facebook a lot for work, and I just stumbled upon a group that someone who had attended an event I spoke at had recently joined. It’s a group for Lebanese students and supporters called “No Palestinian will remain on Lebanese lands.” I was horrified. This kind of hate speech is rampant on Facebook, because you can create a group for just about anything. But this group is created in Arabic, and therefore it is meant to be an internal mobilization of people against the Palestinian minority in Lebanon.
The hard thing about these groups is to post anything, especially a protest, you must actually “join” the group and perhaps have others think that you support it. Too bad there is no “graffiti” app enabled, I have a few words for the creators.

Even if you did join to post something, the moderators delete dozens of wall posts each day. I saw this group a few days ago and it’s really sick. But it’s a problem that we have ignored for many years now and am glad that many students are quickly reacting to it. Generally speaking, it appears to be that the biggest enemy for Arabs are usually fellow Arabs.

I’m sure there is an anti-Palestinian group for Mahdi Army supporters lol
I wonder when the Arab and Muslim community gona speak out agianst this… Israel this, Zionist that… how about these… I hear Jews killing Palestinians, never hear about other Arabs killing Palestinians… what gives?
My girlfriend works in a brand new university library. It is constantly being trashed by the students. The ones that are ruining it post up their “damage reports” on Facebook thinking the library staff don’t see it/can’t see it. Little do those fools know!
