Not me! it seems like child play.
Personally I love watching the US fall for Iran’s mocking games, as immature as it all is.
That’s because you are such a lovely person, Ezra.
I wonder how funny you will think it all is when people start dying over the “games”?
Uh oh – it’s Craig, the incredible bore again. Shock and awe.
Did I say anything about people dying? No. I said it’s hilarious watching your sorry excuse for a government get its panties in a twist when a country of its choice does not bow down to its shitty orders.
And now that China is doing it too, I’m LOLing just as hard.
Last I read, Iran was considering whether to even enter a second round of talks, its all just playing around and trying to get the upper hand. Though I think these two talking is better than not talking, diplomacy over war any day surely?
Surely!
I am still waiting for Iran to test their nukes so USofA will shut up and go bully someone else. Kind of like what they did with DPRK, Pakistan and in a lighter note India.
Ezra, read your two comments here again, and tell me about how you are preaching tolerance?
Mahmood, if you are reading this, what’s your take on this great example of Bahraini Ghandi-ism? Is this the type of person you want to promote in that role? Really?
She’s just another partisan dirtbag.
Shirin,
Though I think these two talking is better than not talking, diplomacy over war any day surely?
There is no “talking” – Ezra is right. It’s all a bunch of shit. There’s going to be war. Ezra and I agree about that. The difference between us is that she thinks it’s funny, and I don’t.
And yet, she believes herself to be an advocate opf peace. And I do not.
Jino, how hard will you be laughing when hundreds of thousands have died over the issue? Will that be a “LOL” for you?
If this is “mid-east youth” then to hell with the lot of you. I won’t be doing the LOL thing, but I won’t be crying if Jina and Ezra end up on the wrong side of a death squad, either.
Craig, and others:
I prefer these talks to continue and go serious, cuz I dont want my country to go on a fire and you people stay there and discuss:LOLing, is it a FUN, is DYING a desperate, Must we cry or not over it, oh! another Iranian died, oh another 1 million Iranian died, etc. (=> the same way now we are paying attention to the Iraq teragedy; today is Iraqis’ turn; tomorrow may be ours)
and my name is Mohammad, not Mahmood!
Guys,
I stumbled upon this thread by accident but I cannot help reminding you all how serious this is: LOL-ing is good but for everything else…there is a global repecution. If something happens in Iran it will impact the whole world and first and foremost the Middle East.
What Jina says seems to me quite immature: “I am still waiting for Iran to test their nukes so USofA will shut up and go bully someone else.”
Craig – you fail to understand me yet again. POLITICS is laughable – not in the sense that it’s hilarious, but in the sense that it’s so absurd that one can’t help but laugh at its idiocy. War on the other hand is a result of this stupidity, which is not funny.
Funny as in laughable and funny as in amusing/enjoyable are two very different things. One laughs at his own misery when he realizes how moronic it is while being fully aware of the fact that it’s serious and hurtful.
And my name is Esra’a, not Ezra!
Mohammad, you have to realize that where I live, Iran is nothing to us. If the entire country was to get wiped of the map, no one will give a fuck for few reasons. One, most think your in league with Usama and some how connected to 9/11. Two, you wan to wipe Israel off the map. Three, your all evil Moooslims.
If US goes to war with Iran, people will protest and then go home and move on with their lives like it never happened.
Really? USofA has a history of bullying countries who are weak, when they become strong they shut up. That’s all.
Explain to me why this is immature?
And is this the same Craig guy who got so pissed of when we condemned the rape of Iraqi women and children by US soldiers or am I thinking of some other Craig?
Kind of like what already happened with Iraq. And every other country at war today.
Shame on you. You should only condemn what Arabs and Muslims do. The U.S forces in Iraq are peace agents. No rape or murder of any kind happened in their ever so holy name!
Jeno,
And is this the same Craig guy who got so pissed of when we condemned the rape of Iraqi women and children by US soldiers or am I thinking of some other Craig?
So, now you suddenly remember me a year old discussion, when you didn’t on Mahmood’s blog a month ago?
Interesting.
Yes./ I did object to all the lies you were telling about the US in Iraq. And, I still do. And I object to all the other lies you tell about the US. And about Americans. I object to everything about you. You’re a bigot and you’re a liar and you’re a propagandist.
And so are you, Ezra.
Which is fine. Except that you present yourselves as something quite different from that. And you’ve conned people like Mahmood into promoting you. At least, I hope Mahmood has only been conned. Because he has the repuation of being a pretty good guy. But since he says Ezra is such a great person, maybe that’s in doubt as well?
In any case, have fun with the bright peaceful future you guys are helping to create with your hate-mongering.
By the way, Jeno, are you the same bigot who called me a “Jew” on Roba’s blog?
Jina:
this is just a theory which may be true. indeed, there are some evidences which support your idea (the case of North Korea, etc). but for sure, I dont want this theory to be tested on my own country. lets test it over some other parts of the earth. chances are that your theory wont come true, and I dont want to make a risk on it, even if its chance is less than 1/1000000000.
Firstly Craig, before you attack us further with childish insults, refer to our comment policy. Don’t turn this thread into one of your embarrassing flam wars which no one here has any interest in.
Secondly, regarding your ridiculous claim:
Tell me where we said we didn’t remember? You claimed that we “bad-mouthed” Americans in general. You failed to tell us where, why, and how. Thus, no one believed you. Not here, not on Mahmood’s Den, not anywhere else. Simply because you have no evidence of what never happened. The threads and the records are all here. Where is your proof, yet again? Your pitiful lies are falling on their faces as per usual. Don’t bother.
Everyone here reads my posts or has access to them. So if you are too damned lazy, why don’t you go ask somebody else to find a single post where I was supposedly “racist” against Americans? Ask them, I’m sure someone would love to help you point it out.. if only it existed.
Craig:
just a question is raging in my mind, and I wish if an Iraqi could respond. do they (Iraqis) really admire American’s invasion of Iraq? do u think that 20 years later, when the country reaches the shore of peace, they (again: Iraqis) will say that “American were our saviour”? or they wish if Americans had never stepped in Iraq?
Mohammad, sorry, but how can you ask that question to anyone but an actual Iraqi? Only they know what is truly going on. Someone half a world away relying solely on news channels and newspapers most certainly don’t.
There are many different kinds of Iraqis. Some are pro-war, some are staunchly against it, some are simply under a new and brutal occupation. You will hear in the Iraqi blogosphere opinions that cover all of the above, especially in the Arabic blogs, most of which have become numb to pain and violence due to years of unfortunate experiences. The fact is that Iraq today is a nightmare. 10 years ago it was a nightmare. 20 years ago it was a nightmare. When can the Iraqis finally breathe some fresh air?
Esra’a:
Strongly believe that even most distinguished Iraqis do now know the true answer. indeed, within this nightmare, they cant wake up; and even if they wake up, there is no sun to shine and let them see the truth, the ‘facts on the ground’.
though it is grammatically a question, I meant just an informative sentence: America did this attack, but was not sure of the result. who cares about 1 million Iraqis and their future? just save that Blonde French Journalist!
haha! Blonde French Journalist! it was a joke published shortly after the US invasion:
sorry, I meant:
No one CAN answer for them – that is the main point. Why do we usually assume things about others when we never tasted what they are going through? For how long are we going to point our fingers at them and assume we know what they think, what they are thinking, and what they will think in 20 years? None of us know. It’s as simple as that.
We are here, sitting in our comfort, enjoying our freedom and the air that we are breathing, but Iraqis are suffering in the midst of an unnecessary war where no side can be trusted.
So you expect someone who isn’t there to answer for you? You expect someone half a world away to know what the Iraqis will think in 20 years and how they will judge their history?
How many times did we play with the Iraqis now? How many times did we propose “solutions” and say Iraqis should do this and that, when really, no one has ANY real idea what ANY of these people are going through? Media sources claim one thing and the other… each source wants us to be pro or anti. Each leader wants to feed their ego and refuse to admit any mistakes. How can we know the answer? How can we be so arrogant enough to assume that we know how they feel and what they are thinking, or what they SHOULD do.
Iraqis do know the answer – and they are the only ones who do. The rest of us are entirely biased, disconnected, and don’t know what is going on in Iraq even if we claim to. We simply don’t. And if you read the words of Iraqis today you will realize how much of the picture you are missing, and how much we will continue to be blind to.
I dont expect anybody to answer! I want all to recall that there is no answer!
and how some politicians make a game with the lives of millions (or even tes of millions if we consider the consequences of this war, and its effect on the lives of next generations, and even think of other societies which got, get and will get affected by this war) just for the sake of some unanswerable questions?
Kinda funny, who the fuck is Roba? and Jeno?
ROFL… I don’t comment on any other blogs… you are really cracking me up… do you somehow think that just because the name I use here resemble the name of someone you know.. that means that person must be me? Damn… you just reached a new level in stupidity, grats!!!
PS: the den place, I don’t debate/bitch with anyone outside of this website. So your wrong and you also admitted indirectly to what I said about rape of Iraqi women and children.
At the same time, there is a much higher chance if not the the same chance that your nation will be turned into a warzone if you don’t have nukes or some other kind of deterrence.
Ohh and you call me Jeno and Esra’a Ezra. You have a serious reading comprehension issue. You should go back to high school.
The least we can do – and perhaps the only thing we can do – is to remember. The most hurtful thing is when we dismiss, justify, or forget what happens, no matter where or who it happened to.
You see people bang on about certain wars but forget the most brutal ones that happened in Hiroshima, Cambodia, Bangladesh… it’s a tragic, unaware world. And what we think are our biggest problems really aren’t that big compared to the problems or wars we never listen and pay attention to.
Jina:
you can add Mamood vs Mohammad!
ok, adimt it. I said the first thing that passed my mind: the closer you get to nukes, the more likely the war will be. but, dont u think that if Nukes can work as an effective ‘deterrence’, long-range missiles of Iran’s regime can do the same? they may be not that accurate, but they are enough to wipe a country off the map; ha?
Please dont assume the above comment as if I approve of wiping a country off the map. as our foreing minister stressed, ‘any elementary student knows that a country cant be wiped off the map’.
The thing about missiles is that, you can fight it. You can’t fight a nuclear warhead. If it detonates, you’ll be turned to dust within seconds. Missiles give a fighting hope. This hope nullify it’s power as a deterrence.
With Israel’s Arrow system and US’s Patriot system. Missiles really don’t count as a deterrence because there is a way to fight back against them. Maybe one day if someone finds a way to nullify nukes, it will seize to be a deterrence.
Also when people say Iran will use nukes on Israel… well to those people I have to say that, even the mullahs are not stupid. Fallout knows no boundaries or borders, it will seep into Iran eventually and before that it will kill other Muslim nations on it’s way.
knowing this weakness of missiles, former defence minister (of Khatami’s cabinet) said that we will produce Shahab Missiles more than Peykan! not a precise number, but he meant the mass production of these missiles. it may nullify the hope of Patriots!
Not really, do you know how many missiles are aimed at Taiwan? Do you know only last year or was it 2 years ago, the Taiwanese government bought the upgraded version of Patriot missiles. Hope is the deciding factor when it comes to deterrence.
Iran can mobilize 1 missile for every household in Israel, trust me, it won’t be a deterrence because of this little hope they have in their military superiority and the ability of their Arrows.
