The Arab Network for Kurdish Rights

Author: Esra'a (Bahrain) - June 24, 2007

We are very proud to announce our most recent project where we address the Kurdish issue within the Middle East. This is one of the few existing non-Kurd networks that currently target Kurdish rights. Our aim here is to inspire and encourage non-Kurds in this region to rally for causes even if they are not directly affected by them. Here at Mideast Youth, we take the entire region into consideration, and this includes its many minorities who are being forced to put up with many injustices. We won’t stand around to watch it happen, we choose to actually do something about it, hence this new initiative and a petition which will soon be following the site’s launching.

The Arab Network for Kurdish Rights is where Arabs from all over the region unite in order to support Kurds in their struggle for human rights. It is also where Kurdish students join forces with their Arab friends to encourage Arabs and Kurds to live peacefully with each other while maintaining their full identity, language and culture. We hope to help them gain equal rights within our societies. Together we also condemn Kurdish extremism and Arab oppression in all its forms and try to find new and non-violent ways to protest Kurdish oppression.

And now allow me to proudly present what we will be working on very hard from this point onwards -

KurdishRights.org!

I would like to thank my awesome new Canadian friend Shannon for helping me out with the banner. In fact we are adopting her here at Mideast Youth as a result of her great help and her willingness to do more.

If anyone here wants to help out, please do so, and let me know what you are willing to do.
