"Blow" My Breath Away..
[ mood : Paranoid ]
[ listening to : Marcel Khalife - Passing Train ]
WARNING : Random Thoughts Ahead.. This used to be an audio clip i did a year ago..
It’s a constantly re-occurring scare that I usually have when I drive around my city.. What isn’t?
A gasping scream echoing in the neighboring district, I want to live..
Every place i go to, buying groceries for my family, coming back from a mosque, heading to school, coming back from a night with my close friends.. Perfection in it’s flawed human sense, perfect places, perfect memories, perfect timing..
A car exploded just two meters away from me, Perfect timing..
Statistics show, every 10 to 15 years, the human probability to die out of a small-scale explosion increases by 0.3%.. That number started increasing ever since the industrial revolution, you do the math..
I doesn’t fail to pass me by, that small thought of turning into one neighborhood, taking a walk, and then be “taken” away.. The threat is not from an enemy, we’re all each other’s enemies if we look at it in one way or another correctly.. The term “enemy” got way out of context, that even we can’t differ if this explosion is for a cause, a delusional cause, or just for the sake of having a Saudi extremist fourth of July..
I’m not feeling safe in my home anymore.. I’m not feeling safe in my neighborhood.. I’m not feeling safe in my city.. I’m not feeling safe in my country..
A Dynamite inventor wants to redeem himself by offering peace prizes.. Welcome to planet earth..
“Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding.” – R. W. Emerson
We failed to see what our actions have done to our future, and “I” failed to see the peace my country was once in.. Long long time ago..
The green flag of my country reflects its aspiration for peace and prosperity for humanity at large. -The Saudi ambassador in Canada
All but smoke and mirrors.. smoke and mirrors..
Yours,
Lou..

Louai your posts are poetic and breath taking. You’re like the saving grace of this blog! In any case I can relate… you know in Bahrain our anthem starts with “our Bahrain, land of peace…” and I just don’t feel like the country’s how it used to be. My older friends say “it was always like this, you were just too young and naive to notice!”
Now as I sleep I am awaken in the middle of the night by cylinder explosions, and I’m thinking to myself “what the hell happened to this country?”
You know what really scares me… is that our enemies is not who we whine about in the media… our biggest enemies are quite often our own neighbors! Our leaders, our so-called “guards.” Will we ever be safe?
The Saudi ambassador to Canada should have not mentioned the flag. Becasue it does not symbolise peace at all. There is a sword in it, isn’t it?
Or may be it is a contradiction like our other national symbol the 2 swords crossing each other with a palm tree in the middle. What does that mean for heaven’s sake?
Ours is a zig zag… it means “hi guys we’re so small and cute leave us alone plz thx”
And morocco has a white-magic green pentagram as a logo..
The point here is that he used the notions of peace in a time of war, people.. The nature of the symbolism in the flag requires a complete website, let alone a small blog..
