We are young digital natives reaching out across seemingly impenetrable national, social, political, ethnic, and sectarian barriers, employing the freedom created by media platforms to demand and create our own civil discourse.
This is an interview recorded on LBC Lebanese channel from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia studio where a Saudi reporter Buthayna Nasser – Badass was defending women appearing in the media and t.v earlier this year.
This video is in Arabic but is has subtitles in English..

We should see more of these tapes in the West. Imperial feminsits in Western countries think Muslim women need to be taught about equal rights. Imperial Western feminists are just like the Islamic extremist male, they both think Muslim women can not think for themselves. If Western feminists want to help the Muslim women they should get the United States to stop propping up brutal dictators and kings who do the UNited States’ bidding.
After Western feminists have cut all the puppet strings, what would you suggest they do to help women in Lebanon, Iraq, Somalia, etc., whose repression is not the fault of U.S. imperialist puppet masters?
testing: my last two posts have not gone through. are posts being held for review, have i been banned from posting, is there a glitch in the website?
Sorry about that Grumpy; fixed. FYI, we don’t ban people from posting
By the way Rasha – thanks so much for posting this, it’s amazing and I am really proud that we have someone like her in the Gulf.
Grumpy you wrote,
Western feminists do not need to do anything further. What Western feminists can start working on is the disproportionately high consumption of the world’s natural resources by democracies (in particular the United States).
I think we need witness protection programs.. I mean, she expressed her thoughts and i truly commend her on the last phrases she said on “Brainwashing”.. Though i really fear another Rania Baz incident to happen..
Women should have “louder” microphones in Saudi.. I think Rasha already agrees on that..
I think HIGH is a little bit LOW.. The last numbers from the war of Iraq give “high” a new high..
I remember when Saudi women’s voices were heard at the time they tried to drive in Riyadh during the gulf war in 1991.
Their voices were heard alright! these women were arrested, passports were confiscated, banned from work, named whores by religious extremists and attacked in their homes! that was 16 years ago..
Did we learn something from these women? yes.. that we can’t get our speakers too high.. we have to reduce the volume.. adjust it to be consistent yet persistent..
