I have heard similar stories from Iranian Baha'i friends in the UK who were in school in the 1950s and 1960s. What kind of person picks on children because of their religion? Any religion! On the other hand, it also exposes the courage and depth of faith of those children who persevere in spite of the abuse at a stage of life when wanting to be accepted by others would be important to many of them.
