Germany, I am Coming !
Is it true that sometimes traveling can make you feel too anxious and/or too excited?
It all started when I got a job interview with www.detecon.de which is located in Germany, where I felt like, hey this could be a very good chance for me to get a great job, and gain some international experience and have the exposure too, things were slow, but as the days went by, and all of a sudden I was at the Germany embassy taking my Visa, not realizing that I’m traveling within (3) days!
The excitement is that I’m going to Germany for the first time, and I will definitely see things for the first time, such as museums, historical places and surly some pubs as well, but I’m a bit anxious because the whole flight is organized to the point that I shouldn’t miss any detail, I’m basically going to Frankfurt and then will take a train to Bonn, I have all the needed information but its all in German!!, so I asked a friend to translate the whole thing for me which he did, but I have to be really careful with my steps at Frankfurt airport, any wrong move would mean missing the train to Bonn.
Its true that sometimes timing is very important, in terms of meeting your deadlines or have a business meeting, when it comes to that I always fulfill my commitments, but in Germany things are organized to the point that the train is at 07:09 and not 07:10 or 07:05, so if you see someone in the news, having middle eastern looks and being chased by the German police, don’t think he is a terrorist, he is just someone who is trying really hard to catch up with the train !!!
I still lack information about Bonn, so I need to make a research about it now, otherwise I will be just like صعيدي في الجامعة الأمريكية
one thing to say, traveling is more an excitement than anything else for me, experiencing new things is always enriching in whatever aspect it is, one day I will pack things and go backpacking, I just don’t know when, maybe 10/10/2010

You’re lucky! Germany was really a great place for me, I love Berlin very much. I visited it twice and both times was great, if you get the chance you should visit Radio Multikulti, there are people representing many countries there… you’ll find Turks, Russians, Iraqis, now that I think about it, it was probably one of the things that inspired me to start this place.
Traveling is the best way to learn about things, so make the best out of this trip and good luck!
More or less we’re doing an exchange. You’re going to Germany and I’ll go to Syria (well not exactly Jordan
). I wish you good luck and a very good time!
The trains in general are quite punctual (but a delay of some minutes is getting more and more normal
) but there might be in a couple of days a general strike of the train drivers.
I nerver have been to Bonn, too. But it is a student city in a lovely environment and the former seat of government (a lot of ministries still are in Bonn). I think Adenauer, the first chancellor, who lived very close to Bonn, also choosed this small city because of its environment and not Frankfurt inspite of its linked history to German democratic development.
If one of your backbacking tours should lead you to Nuremberg, don’t hesitate to contact me (Forumacount Marten). I’m back in March 2008.
