Democrazy!
This picture shows a Jordanian Parliament Representative, Ali Utoom, after he was attacked by (unknown) armed people who belabored him and shaved half of his beard as a big insult for him and the Islamic Brotherhood, which he belongs to. By the way, the Sheik has recently criticizes the Jordanian government in public -especially in mosques- accusing it of being the reason of the late “Unfair Municipal Elections” , as he called them. The accident is considered by many as a big threat to the (so-called) democracy in Jordan.

Wow Ahmad, this is indeed crazy! This is an unacceptable way of protesting another person’s ideas. No change will be achieved with this type of behavior, it can only lead to violence. Thanks for posting this.. I had no idea these types of things happen in Jordan!

This attack is indeed barabaric and anyone behind it should be accountable. However, the information published by Ammon News website state that the reason behind the attack were personal as the Sheik refused to ask for a tribal “Atwa” for his son who was involved in beating up another guy. Municipal elections may only have a little impact on this incident.
Batir, I cannot deny what you said about the reason of the accident, but on Sarayanews website they had a interview with his son who said something else about the accident. you can read this interview here : http://www.sarayanews.com/news0_272.php
This is unacceptable, BUT do you believe someone who doesn’t belive in tribalism and traditions and who ironically wins by their support?
Another point, if we are in love with conspiracy theories then why not apply it to the MB, why don’t we suspect that they did that?Umm…
Last point, did you check out the IAF analysis of the incident? They are comparing jordan to Iraq.
