Mideast Youth to be represented on Internet media panel in Jerusalem!

December 2nd, 2007Eliesheva (Israel/USA)

I wasn’t sure if Ray already posted about this – at least the schedule – but here goes:

Mideast Youth’s own Ray Hanania has organized a day of panel discussion for tomorrow, Monday, sponsored by NAAJA, SPJ-Arab Journalists, in East Jerusalem at the Ambassador Hotel. The topics of the panels are:

1. Internet Media: Strategies and Challenges facing Internet News Web and Blog sites.

2. Traditional Media: Strategies and Challenges facing coverage of the Palestine-Israel Conflict.

Yours truly will be speaking on behalf of Mideast Youth in the first panel, and Ray will be moderating the second. If you’re in the area, come by.

I posted the full schedule and details here.

I’ll update my thoughts regarding the panel after tomorrow. I used to do a lot of this type of thing in my university days, so I’m a bit out of practice. Hopefully it’ll go well.

  1. Thanks Eliesheva … it’s an unusual event in that there hasn’t been a gathering of Israeli and Palestinian journalists coming together to share their experiences … already, some Arab journalists and Islamicists are trashing to event denouncing me for “organizing normalization” with Israel … Normalization is the big sin among the extremists among the Arabs and Muslims who don’t want peace based on compromise and they do everything they can to twist and turn events to intimidate Arabs not to attend. But, whatever happens, the event will be a statement about Palestinian and Israeli journalism …
