Mytwocents :)
I was not sure about the role DDT would play, but I heard or read some where, that once DDT was used against a certain kind of insect and then later on, the immune types survived and multiplied and then they couldn't be dealt with using DDT. Or perhaps DDT would serve as one of the ways along with the other measures to cripple the mosquito :)
Interfaith or Inter-Nets ?

Hi, Elinor. I think you may be mistaken about DDT: I don't want to go off-topic, but if you're curious check this out. Mozambique...slashed their malaria rates by 75% or more
Is the Inter-Religious Campaign also targeting the Mozambican government's policy on nets?

Omid,
It was a very inspiring post. It is wonderful to use faith in a productive way, not a destructive manner. The core to all faiths and beliefs is almost the same, as shifting from merely material needs and nurturing the spiritual demands of the elevated human soul, which proves to be sacred and of celescial quality.
Religions to begin with stepped into man's life to promote his way of life. It is within the nature of a religion to have a reasonable respectful and productive relationship with other religions and other beliefs. Charity is one of the best ways to express faith in the creator and say Aye to his commandments which include being good to the neighbor, being good to fellow man.
Omid, the faith that I practice, which is following the 7 laws of noah invites the followers to Proper Charitable Measures and Random Acts of Goodness.
Omid there was this program on TV about one of the most essential things people in Africa need to fight Malaria, which was simply the net!
The city of Ardakan, in Yazd province has a traditional net, made out of natural materials, the one that a family can sleep in it without being seen from outside, while from inside out is visible. Man I wish we could all go to Ardakan and buy a plenty and send them to families in Mozambique :)
TwoCents, DDT hadn't been the best way of fighting back Malaria, as I have heard.

Very cool, indeed. Does anyone know the current status of DDT use in Mozambique? I think it's finally legal again.

Accessing and utilizing religious infrastructures will be an indispensable part of the battle for health equity. Africa’s faith-based initiatives against HIV/AIDS have already played significant roles in combatting that disease — and TAM will serve as a model for strengthening that capacity. For all of the violence that is carried out in the name of God, this interfaith collaboration in rural Mozambique demands that we acknowledge that religious co-operation is not only possible, but powerful.

Very cool. Thanks, Omid.
