Jordan Talks on Global Voices Online!

December 29th, 2007Mohammad Azraq (Jordan)

In the post I wrote right before I left to speak at the conference in Beirut, I mentioned briefly my new involvement with Global Voices Online.

Amira, the Middle East coordinator at Global Voices, an amazing person I got to know recently, and definitely very proud of knowing! invited me to write periodical digests of what goes on in the Jordanian blogosphere for Global Voices.

I got my first one published today, so check it out and tell me what you think:-)

I’m very happy to join the family of volunteers from the MENA region at Global Voices, and I look forward to writing more digests about what happens in the small yet very vocal blogging community of Jordan

  1. Congrats, that’s really great! A wonderful start with this article, too. Jordan hasn’t been thoroughly represented on GVO recently, so I’m glad to see you picking up the job. Good luck and please share with us your round-ups each week, so we can be aware of what’s going on in the Jordanian blogosphere.

I’m glad to see YOU of all people doing this! Keep it up my friend. :)

  2. Mohaamad,
It was nice reading the posts about the film festival and Jordan university, I am looking forward to reading more from you. The stragne thing was that the site was filtered, i cannot even imagine why, so I had to use the known ways of viewing the site. Be well :)

Global Voices Online documents the Iranian blogosphere, a lot of which involves political or culturally sensitive material. It also has a lot information about cyber activism and encourages things like the fight for human rights and freedom of speech (through the use of online media.) This is most likely why.

I just hope our site won’t be blocked too!

  4. Thank you Esra’a and Elinor for your encouraging words,I really appreciate it:-)
