Let's Make Up
My friend, Elana Rozenman of Trust-Emun, organized a group of Palestinian and Israeli women to “make up” together. I thought it was a great title for their meeting. Of course, I had to be at work and couldn’t make it but thought it would be good to share her report of that morning.
Dear friends,
It was a lovely sun drenched morning last Thursday at the Cafe Rimon in
the new Mamilla Mall overlooking the Old City walls. There the TRUST WIN
(Women’s Interfaith Network) launched their “Let’s Make Up” program — a
series of cosmetics demonstrations for Palestinian and Israeli women. Fifteen women– Muslim, Christian and Jewish (Israelis and Palestinians) –had a beautiful and peaceful time sampling Parisian cosmetics over cafe au lait, mint tea, and croissants. They each received a make-over and gifts from Superpharm, the sponsor of the event. There were laughs and smiles and in the end many satisfied, relaxed, peaceful and BEAUTIFUL customers. The women came from Rehavia, Ramot, French Hill, Abu Tor, Shuafat, Beit Hanina, Furedis, and Daliat HaCarmel — and all left looking great and feeling
warmed by the sisterhood they shared.
This was a perfect way to end the year with a feeling of optimism and hope
for a brighter and more beautiful future.

Leah,
This is very beautuiful and it fills my eyes with tears, I pray to G-d that good relationship replace the harms the so unnecesarry harms….. I call this a fight, a fighting of a group of very brave people againt violence , a fight too braveheartedly to be engaged in violence and againt the evil of misunderstanding. I hope one day the women of all our region come together and help their sons stop, I salute the women of our region viva middle east.
