Video: Promoting Kurdish human rights
April 12th, 2008I just created this video in support of Kurdish rights within the region. If you’re interested in contributing anything to the Kurdish cause, Niroj posted a very important entry here which you should all read and pitch in, if you can at all help. I’m not sure people realize how crucial this issue is, are people waiting for another Kurdish genocide to occur before they take action? Shall we silently sit back and watch our Kurdish brethren be killed off, imprisoned, or live a life of humiliating oppression throughout the region?
Maybe this video will convince you of the urgency of the Kurdish cause.

This is just a note to the kind of reactions I know this might be getting, as we get it far too often through our feedback form, and sometimes our forums. You are free to criticize any form of Kurdish activism, including the PKK which some of you consider to be a terrorist organization (and I myself of course disagree fully with their violent tactics,) but you will not get away with referring to Kurds as animals and/or justifying any abuse against them. This is racism which is not tolerated in this website. Please, have some respect. Try to understand this horrific oppression and put yourself in their shoes before you hatefully generalize.
To those of you who want to help, remember to read Niroj’s post on why and how you should donate.

Thank you for recognizing the truth. Kurds believe in peace and equality that we have been denied for centures and still are being denied in the 21st century. For all these decades, we have faced prosecution, tortoure, genocide, and assimilationg in the hands of the occupiers of Kurdistan, yet no Kurd has shown any hatred toward those nations, occuping Kurdistan, and unfortunatley this fact has yet to reach the general public of the occupying nations. People of Middle east and especially of the neighbors occupying Kurdistan need to recognize our oppression in the hands of the occupying countries and they have to recognize the peacefull nature of Kurdish people, so that a peacefull independent Kurdistan can come into existance where Kurds like every other nation in middle east can live in peace and prosperity on their land. Thank you for your hard work. We work every day to reach out to people like you all over Middle East and around the world. The silent children of Kurdistan need you and thank you for becoming their voice in your country and around the world. And we all applaud you for standing up for the Truth.
Well done and powerful video. Thanks for sharing, Esra’a. And thanks for your continued support for the Kurdish cause. The Kurds and other oppressed peoples will never be able to reach justice without the support of people like yourself. I applaud your dedication and continued hard work.
The Kurdish cause is one that should be important for everyone. Indeed, justice and a solution to the Kurdish question is justice for humanity.
Cordialement
