I thought of sharing my friend's refutation of my poem! Very interesting and passionate.

Quote:
Waves crashing as the crescendo mounts

i love this line for some reason, it's very visual and dramatic, as all the noise rises in the background, life seems to be crashing, wave by wave, piece by piece..

All because we choose to succumb to the power of "love"

Love until there's no breaths left to take, even if we're trapped in delusions of our construction.. Life is not really events and strategies, life is passion, life is love.. without love, we become vacant bodies going through the motion..

And yes scream it: love is a godess, she's a female, pure and beautiful.. confused at how we mistreated her and misused her name.. Where are the doors to let her revive our souls and allow us to be humans rather than beings of hatred and mass destruction..

She's not a mistress of seduction.. But a servant for passion, for life! never let her stop, let her be, let her blossom!! dont let them destroy her.. don't listen to them!

Before I sound crazy (which I am), I loved every piece of the poem

beautifully intense, and genuinely reflective of our state of emotional confusion!

Omid, thank you. I am actually addressing "Love", beseeching it to stay away from me because I am not ready for it.However, your impression is another way of looking at the poem.

Esra'a, as always, a pleasure to read your comments. I am thinking of making an audio compilation(rather than an album for the time being) Once that is ready, you will be the first to know. I did collaborate with my brother's group though in a song. Check out myspace.com/diligentthought The song is called "Mind Body Soul".My brother does the first verse, his Sri Lankan friend does the second and I do the third:)

Amil, awaiting your reply.

HH, where have you disappeared to? Hope life is treating you well.I know I haven't been in touch. My bad!!! The blogging world is tantalizing and tempting me again.Sadly and this is no pretext, I have no time nor enough internet access to look up topics, read or follow up:(
Like you suggested before, might record Xpat's Dilemma and hand it over to you to add the effects:)

Of all places, there you are! What Esra'a said: you should recite your poetry - and with a sloooow reggae beat under it: the offer still stands. You know how to reach me.

I've always loved your poetry Hiba, mostly because like Omid said, it's visual and I'd add that it's unique as well. I love this line:

"I am smarter than to fall for your sonnets of ecstasy."

You should do podcasts. Reciting your poetry either by audio or video would make people appreciate it more.
