Why patriarchy rules

by

Despite what those accursed feminazis might preach, diluting male control and (God forbid!) allowing women a say in their own lives would destroy the very fabric of our divinely-guided societies. The consequences would be:

  • Free licenses for sex
  • Corruption levels will hit the skies
  • Sexually transmitted diseases will reign
  • The institution of the family will be destroyed
  • Men will lose their sense of honour
  • Women will be pushed out to work for food
  • Children will turn into knife-wielding, drug-taking yobs
  • And most disgustingly, an ego-centric lustful chase of romance and sexual pleasures will replace our selfless and noble value system.
  • While the above might read like a lame attempt at satire on my end, I’m afraid to say that it’s genuine. The comment was made in response to a Reuters article that “blames mums” for child mortality in Afghanistan (for an analysis of the article, check out Muslimah Media Watch).

Usually, such a comment would leave me seething for hours (he ought to have added ‘women will be turned into red-eyed, profanity spouting murderesses’ to the list), but all I could muster after reading it was a chuckle. Suffice to say that our societies are already plagued with the aforementioned “ills”.

I’d like to say that this and similar diatribes should simply be dismissed and that we should focus our effort on proving them wrong, but the sad truth is that many devoutly believe this nonsense.
