I leave to Beirut very early tomorrow morning in order to attend the 2nd New Arab Woman Forum, where I’ll be speaking at one of the panels; Education, Technology and Identity. Here is a brief summary of what the event is about:
The forum is organized under two main and meaningful headings, with the first day devoted entirely to the question of women and leadership in politics, business and society generally, and the second to the broader concept of the meaning of womanhood and feminism in the Arab world in its various attributes, activities and implications.
The other panelists at my panel are:
I am actually pretty nervous and have no idea what to expect, specifically because my projects are really controversial and I don’t know how people there will take it if I bring any of them up. I’m also nervous because apparently I’m the youngest speaker there and my presentations/panels are often targeting an equally young audience, or at least an audience that isn’t as diverse as this one in terms of profession. I just hope for the best and hope that the interest in Mideast Youth and its many projects will increase.
I’ll have no sufficient internet access until the 25th of October when I return, but I will be checking my emails regularly on the phone.
