Podcast: Israeli historian stresses importance of Palestinian human rights
November 8th, 2008This is an interview with Shaul, an Israeli historian, and part of the pro-Palestinian minority in Israel. Some of the questions asked are leftovers from this session, others were brought up along with the discussion as you’d notice. We understand the controversy of this topic, I’d just ask that you try your best to be as respectful as possible within the comments.
This podcast was pre-recorded before the elections, as one of the questions imply. I had just gotten the time to edit it into a show.
Thanks Shaul for accepting to be interviewed, and for your general courage to speak out against injustices.

He sounds totally lunatic.
totally one sided. cant believe he is from israel.
Esra where do you pick up those mad man.
Well it’s normal for people like you Ben to be totally disrespectful and unaccepting of any form of legitimate criticism. It’s like you have a societal brain disease that prevents you from reasonining with people who disagree with your human rights abuses, instead resorting to sheer insults, probably because you have no other refutation.
What an insane society, to be frank. We may not have as many legal freedoms as in Israel, but I’d still never for a day claim that the country is more free than any ours. Consider how critics are collectively abused and bombarded with threats and hatred, and that it’s still a country where minorities get treated like 2nd class citizens. Your society is far from being just and free and the entire world can see that. So the only thing I can do Ben is simply to feel sorry for you, and to pray for anyone with enough guts to stand up to corrupt ideologies and practices within Israel.
Being critical of Israel and its policies makes you a “lunatic”… Hehe. Good one Ben. Oh the joys of being an Israeli.
The joys of being a Jew criticizing Israel. Look at those lovely, respectful letters.
