Mideast Youth on CNN!
On a report on how the current conflict is being fought out on the web as well, CNN featured our own dear Mideast Youth as an example.
It’s always welcome for our efforts to be featured on a global scale, and on one of the most widely viewed news channels nonetheless, but I did take issue with their characterization of Mideast Youth.
First and foremost, Mideast Youth is not pro-Palestinian; we are in fact pro-peace and pro-justice. We condemn terrorism against civilians, and speak out loudly against disproportionate force against unarmed populations. We voice our opposition to the unjust actions carried out by our governments and seek to create change from a grassroots level.
Our many authors espouse diverse views and opinions, yet despite our differences, we are united by our shared values.
Secondly, Mideast Youth is not just “a blog” and it certainly should be hard to believe that after almost 3 years, tens of successful and groundbreaking projects and several prestigious awards. We are a web-based organization that utilizes the freedom offered to us by the Internet to bypass our censors and captors and work towards turning the virtual democracy that we’ve created into reality.

Exposure is always good though
Congratulations!
You all do great work here.
Congrats..
Hi Kawthar,
I guess from now on, we will not be able to view the ME website like before, I guess it is being blocked recently, I hope I am wrong.
We recently faced severe problems with our host, which led to all our websites being down for hours on end (and during the worst timing possible).
However we moved to a more secure and robust server, so hopefully this episode will not repeast again.
Thank you all for your patience!
Congrats. Hope you get more attention for your actions, but why did they label it as a pro-Palestinian website. Lousy journalism of CNN.
