He would still follow &#039;American interests&#039;. Even if the superpower was today let&#039;s say China or Pakistan or another country. Would that change anything? If you look to the history of America,  you see they first saw themselves as a sort of &#039;anti-Imperialistic&#039; nation, while in fact they just killed the whole population of North-America. They confronted Spain for taking over the Philippines. Instead of retreating they started to occupy it themselves and hence the American &#039;super power&#039; was born.
