‘Where are all the Arabs’

January 15th, 2009Mend (Iraq/UK/Germany)

‘Where are all the Arabs’ was the desperate cry of a woman who could escape at last minute out of a building before it crashed, burrying hundreds of others.

And she is right, where are they? Why can’t the Arab nations not act in concert and negotiate in order to put an end to this ferocious one-sided battle? Is that what we in the Orient are proud of?

It is not only the incapability of the UN but also of the Arab countries that Israel ’succeeds’ in it’s tactic.

  1. Well, Qatar just offered 250 million dollars, and is requesting that other Arab leaders commit “financially” to the cause as well. Let’s see what is done with it.

  2. Yes one has to praise Qatar’s position in this war as Saudi Arabia occurs to be absolutely counterproductive by not accepting Hamas as a legitimate party and refusing to negotiate with them. Hamas’s rather radical conviction is less relevant in order to establish a peaceful resolution.

  3. But one also has to wonder who is receiving this money and what exactly will be done with it.
