Hi Eva,
I know the person who started AAPER, and they are definitely a worthy cause. You could also check out Arab American Institute and J Street (a Jewish lobby that is for ending the occupation).

Greg, I believe AAPER is for a two-state solution.

I like the American Task Force on Palestine better. Unlike the group mentioned above, they support a two state solution to the conflict and work closely with pro-Israel, pro-peace groups like Americans for Peace Now and Brit Tzedek.

If only one president stood up and said, “Enough is enough!

He would be shot. No American president who seriously criticizes Israel will ever survive, either literally or politically. This is what makes the AAPER more important and timely than ever.

Watching closely the events in the Middle East since my teenage years in the 60's, I cannot understand the world's nations not coming to the aid of the Palestinians. The United States sanctioned South Africa and Rhodesia for their apartheid policies. Why not Israel? If only one president stood up and said, "Enough is enough! No more aid of any kind until Israel returns to its 1967 borders. No exceptions." How long would it take for Israel to comply? The AIPAC bought Congress would be out of a job and real leaders would be in their stead. What could Israel do that would really matter? Is there anything that Israel offers anyone that can't be found elsewhere? Israel needs to be isolated, their ambassadors sent home and the same sanctions imposed on Iran should be dealt to Israel. What is the worst case senario? We would be called, anti-semites, National Socialists, fascists, etc. It would be an honor to be called any of those names, if the suffering in the Israeli occupied territories ended.
