BBC & SKY TV refuse to broadcast DEC Gaza Appeal
January 28th, 2009Gaza DonationsThe BBC says the risk of compromising confidence in its fairness, coupled with ‘question marks’ about aid getting through, had led to its decision not to broadcast the Gaza appeal. Because of this decision Sky and ITV are not allowed to make the appeal either.
Perhaps the real reason is that the broadcast would have highlighted the plight of thousands of victims, including many children, who are homeless and without food, power and water. That would’ve damaged Israel’s image as the ‘innocent’ party to this crisis.
As for question marks on aid getting through – that decision is not the responsibility of the broadcasters, and they have before never questioned the assessments of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
We need to urgently complain to the BBC, Sky and ITV. Politics must not get in the way of aid so desperately needed by people in Gaza.

Here is the video that they refused broadcasting
I personally do not see anything offensive in this video to BBC or its integrity. This is a clear sign of bias towards the Palestinian conflict. A few years ago, the BBC refused to broadcast a program “Panorama” about Ariel Sharon and his connection in the Sabra and Shatila Massacres in 1982 in Beirut.
