No jam for Gaza !!
It always amazes me to see in which ways the “most human army of the world” is able to reach almost incredible levels of viciousness and pure cruelty. No sweets & no jams for the kids of Gaza!! Why should they have such a “luxury”, didn’t they vote for Hamas back in 2006??
No?? Ooops!!
Well anyway, Gazan children should never believe that Israelis could maybe be good people, with whom it would be possible to live in peace…
Or… did I get something wrong???

It seems like, as of today at least, Israel is going to lift restrictions on food like jam and pasta going into Gaza:
This seems to be due to pressure from the Obama administration, although really, should allowing jam and pasta be something the US needs to urge Israel to do? As an american, I’m proud of my government finally standing up for Palestinian rights, but I really REALLY hope they push further than just jam.
Yes, you are missing something. Recieving free jam and sweets is not a human right.
Sarah, Pushing the Israelis to let in jam is ” finally standing up for Palestinian rights”? Are you serious?
Well its a start. Do you really think the new administration can come in and order the Israeli government to tear down the wall, dismantle settlements and go back to pre 1967 borders? Progress needs to start somewhere and I think that easing Gaza restrictions is a good start. Its not just jam either, its pasta, chickpeas and other staple foods.
It hasnt even been 100 days.
Obama will never ask Israel to tear down the wall. Perhaps move it a little bit in a few places but the wall by and large is there to stay. I’m amazed how some Westerners protest the wall. That wall has saved countless lives, Israeli and Palestinian, and has put an end to the Second Intifada. You can’t compare the lives of thousands, on both sides, to the land taken from farmers because of the wall.
Of course not, or he’d get shot.
Perhaps in his next term he might get more guts to stand up against shameless Israeli crimes that the entire world right now is condemning, including many Israelis (the actual brave ones, and not the cowards behind tanks and guns.)
And Sarah’s right about the steps that need to be taken. Especially with a stubborn and aggressive government like Israel’s, easing any form of restrictions is still progress. Let’s just hope for the best.
In the meantime, save us the BS of “saving lives” at the expense of an entire nation’s blood. It’s an insipid argument that has been refuted countless times (by pretty much everybody,) and a lie certain people tell themselves so they can sleep tighter at night. Everyone else knows the reality of the situation which is thankfully being exposed even in Israel.
Keep up the great work Eva. You guys are really making a difference.
Not funny Esra’a. Bobby Kennedy would have had something to say to you right now if he was still alive. The wall is not a “shameless crime”. It stopped suicide bombers and you decide to ignore that.
What the hell are you talking about? The wall put an end to the Second Intifada. How did that not save lives? The number of deaths in the West Bank and Israel proper decreased dramatically.
Those “testimonies” were pure rumors. They weren’t accounts of first hand experience. Can you give me the specific law of war Israel broke? Cite it. I support investigations but all of the testimonies from Arabs and even Israelis were from nameless people with no legal evidence to support them. Hamas on the other hand is case study of war crime.
Who said it’s meant to be funny? No politician can or will survive professionally in the USA upon criticizing Israel. That’s a fact. Wake up and smell the roses. Hell, I was banned entry to a high school in Texas just for criticizing Israel, I don’t want to imagine what happens to prominent politicians who do so. The abusive bigotry doesn’t end there, it’s sad to see innocent protestors, many of whom are Jewish, being harrassed and attacked for standing up against Israel’s criminal behavior.
You can sit here and claim that the entire world consists of lies when overwhelmingly people are proving otherwise, including soliders with, yes, first hand experiences as shown in numerous documents and documentiares that I have outlined to you and others in 500 other threads here which you can easily fetch for yourself.
Israel has a lot to hide, but right now, not that many tools to hide it like before. Every day it’s being exposed even by many Israelis themselves who are tired of their corrupt policies and military aggression. Things will change with the likes of Eva, who truly have what it takes to stand up for what’s right, instead of continuing to kill other innocent individuals for the sake of some pitiful political ideology and downright war-mongering paranoia.
Sorry, Esra’a. That’s called democracy. If they declare views unpopular by their constituency, they won’t be re-elected. Maybe they don’t teach that in Government 101 in Bahrain, but they do in the US of A. And there are fierce critics of Israel in Congress, you just chose to ignore their existence to fit your view of America. I’ll give you some examples if you want.
On the other hand, Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Palestinian. I wonder why? That’s what I meant by not funny. And what were you doing just going into a high school in Texas? If you were giving pamphlets and stuff, you have to check with the principle. Parents don’t send their kids to school just so some activists can have access to their brains to tune.
Are you going to “outline to [me]” or should I “fetch” them myself? Now that was funny.
Either way, the Haaretz reports were not from first hand experience. One of the soldiers giving testimonies wasn’t even in Gaza. And the other didn’t say that he saw it himself. Do you know the defintion of the word ‘rumor’?
Tell me, if the IDF was out to get the Palestinians, why did they send 10,000 (I persume, thousands were called up) soldiers into Gaza to kill only about 1,400. It’s not like Israel didn’t have the weapons or couldn’t find anybody in Gaza to kill. Please, I want you to give me the percentage of Gazans that died, make the calculations, please. Hamas sends one person with a bomb strapped into him, goes into Israel, looks for a dance club, and boom! (No longer thanks to the wall! or fence rather)Israel sends 10,000 troops into Gaza, only to kill a small fraction to the people sent. Who is out there to make maximum number of deaths?
It’s probably because thick substances and pastes, like sweets, jams and tomato paste can easily conceal bombs and weapons inside them.
Eva, you should look around for some facts before you jump the gun…
Michael W. There’s only one reason you believe in the illusion commonly referred to as American democracy. It’s because the Truth hurts… but the lie never does.
Rahm Emmanuel White House Chief of Staff, and former Israeli Army Soldier. . .(Rahm Emmanuels Father was a former member of Irgun.) I guess thats not much different than teaming up with the Nazis the same way America did after WW2.
David Axelrod. Senior White Horse Advisor. Is he Jewish? Yes.
I guess the entire fraudulency, er, uh, constituency of America is Jewish.
So what if the White House Chief of Staff and a Senior White House Adviser are Jewish? Is Barak Obama Jewish as well?
Do you think election results are pulled out of a hat?
Are you whining about having
BTW, Rahm might have volunteered on an IDF base, but he wasn’t a soldier. Also, the former was Congressman of Illinois (I think), Rahm Emanuel, represented the constituency of Illinois, not Jewish Americans.
And so what if there is a much higher percentage of Jewish Americans in the US government the percentage of Jews in the constituency? There is an even higher percentage of Jews who won Nobel Prizes. Is that a crime? Is developing vaccines that saves billions/millions of people a crime?
I should clarify. The fact that they happen to be Jewish doesn’t mean anything. I should have referred to them as “pro-settler ” . In other words, that species of troglodyte that thinks it’s okay for one person to steal land by force from another person. And use “God” as a pretext. . The soul of a person has absolutely nothing to do with race. Just look at Hafiz.
“Do you think election results are pulled out of a hat?”
There’s one thing that runs this world and it’s not people. It’s the Pentagon. (But thats gonna change as soon a China gets their aircraft carriers and some more subs built approx.10 yrs.) But I digress.
The act of voting is like this. Do you remember that little plastic lawn mower you’re parents bought you when you was a kid? It made that litttle Rrrrrrrrr when you pushed it across the lawn.
You’d laugh and carry on and think you was cuttin some serious grass. lol.
Well thats what voting is Son.
Always has been. Always will be.
Can you please give me a quote and source of Emanuel and Axelrod saying that they are “pro-settler” or something along those lines? Since they are both close to Obama, are you saying Obama is also “pro-settler”?
Hafiz?
I’m sorry you don’t believe in democracy. Voting is a part of it, but as responsible citizens, we should also be active in influencing government. Sending an email to your representative, if it is read, is a form of lobbying. Lobbies, are just organizations that do it on behalf of people. You can create your own organization of like minded people to lobby for you. But of course, people who don’t take any initiative always whine.
If someone you disagree with is elected and pushes for something you don’t like, you can lobby the government.
Just because you don’t like the way people vote, don’t be so smug thinking you are always right. Admitting mistakes is a humbling experience.
Michael W.
Has anybody ever told you that you are wrapped way too tight?
Take a deep breath there every now and then son.
Read some poetry and have nice hot cup of mint tea.
Mmmmm tea.
Obama nor anybody else will ever make the Israeli government change. Its been over 60 years and there is no change, israel continues to take Palestinian land as they did since the birth of the of their country. palestinians have suffered decades of oppression from the hands of the IDF. Until Israel surrenders all palestinian land, gives palestinian refugees their right of return and return east jerusalem to the palestinians there will never be peace in the region. U guys can call me pesimistic but Im speaking the truth. Im palestinian and have been in both Israel and the palestinian territories plenty of times and most people in the region feel that way. I also support the palestinian armed struggle whether it is Fatah, Jabha, or Hamas. I dont condone all their actions but without them the palestine would have been lost a long time ago.
