Help a man achieve his dream in Kurdistan

April 3rd, 2009Esra'a (Bahrain)

This request is an urgent one. I personally am very passionate about the usage of any media to tell a story, it’s the most empowering thing. So you can imagine why I’d request for your help in pushing this forward; reading the “dream” alone is inspirational as it is:

“My dream assignment would be to work in the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Syria, and Iran to tell the story of the largest culture in the world without a country.

What I propose is to document the experience of the Kurdish people across the Middle East through the use of photography, as well as multimedia storytelling, citizen journalism, and thorough, unbiased reporting.”

This dream is already in the top 20 3 for consideration! You can help make this possible. Just follow these steps:

  • Register for the site using a valid email address and click the confirmation link that will arrive in your email. Please register here.
  • Follow this link to get to his project.
  • Vote by clicking the “Pic It” button on the upper left of the window
  • Send this out to as many people as you can! We can do it, but only together!

To understand why this particular dream is so important, visit our Alliance for Kurdish Rights website to see what the Kurdish population in the Middle East continue to face. These issues don’t have to exist if we promote awareness, understanding, co-existence and appreciation of the historical Kurdish nation and culture. There is no better way to achieve such awareness, and to help humanize and empower Kurds throughout the region, than to allow this man to achieve this dream! Please show your support.

    1. Esra’a: would you be so supportive of this Kurdish separatist objective if you were a real bahrani, and an Arab, and Bahrain was on the list of arab lands designated “Kurdistan”? I think not!
