Hell, I am sick and tired of the bloody excuse of non-existing weapons of mass destructions. So what? Does this make Saddam's dictatorship any better? No.
People can be tortured and humiliated even without those weapons. A nation and its country can be destroyed with the simplest things, by the means of psychological force, by means of political oppression, by means of just anything.

It is true, the war in Iraq has cost its people an enormous amount of deaths, no end of suffering in sight. But what would have been the alternative? What on earth could have saved us from this horrific blood bath? Soon the Iraqi people will be given a little bit more share in power and then we will see.

I am not trying to justify the American way of leading war, let alone its reasons for leading it. The only thing I'm trying is to hold my hands up (not in a religious way!) and hope that people will at least make an attempt to think positively in times of such negative visions and notions. What else can we do?

After watching 6 years of "embedded", censored news that was completely exposed by internet postings...
After watching Blackwater mercenaries drive drunkenly down an Iraq city street randomly shooting people...
After Al Gharib..
After a good baker's dozen of documentaries describing everything from savage war crimes committed by US troops to an in depth analysis of bad policy, administration and general logic...
After watching daily images of screaming, crying families holding the bloodied remains of their loved ones, week after week, year after year...
Are there still people who are seriously defending any virtue of this war on behalf of the US? Really? Is there someone out there who really thinks that America has gotten any part of this right? Is this your version of "mission accomplished"?
Really?

Our soldiers are not your police force.

No they're not, they're a part of a ruthless and self-serving U.S occupation. You can let out your anger to the thousans of corrupt and misguided soldiers who kept arresting, raiding, and outright murdering innocent individuals while people like Wamith are trying to do some REAL work, unlike your government.

As Wamith said:

we want to solve our struggels but the problem is that amercia and iran are helping the big parties with sacterian idologies

To the USA and Iran, Iraq is nothing but a game, both are financing like-minded terrorists fighting for their own empowerment while risking the lives of millions of people which no government has stood up for and made a real effort to protect.

No one likes life during Saddam, but this one's no better. Your reaction to this heartfelt post is nothing but a testement to your disregard for Iraqi lives and a brutish misunderstanding of what your soldiers and government really put innocent people through, and the real intention of them being there in the first place.

Stop praising your soldiers when all they did was intensify the nightmare. The real heroes are the Iraqi individuals risking their lives to fight for the causes that your government can never dream to achieve. Soldiers had a choice coming here, thousands of them don't even understand what they're fighting for, but Iraqis have no choice but to live through this chaos. Millions of Iraqis are against infighting and terrorism, many are using the media to preach against it every day. Your government has done nothing but empower and fuel the very enemy that you created and now deny out of embarrassment or utter ignorance. Either way, the USA, Iran, and all other governments involved have no noble purpose in this country that was once the historical and educational world.

Great article and great work Wamith, people like you give us all hope for a better Iraq. You are the answer to the future and we should all do our very best to help you and your colleagues who are doing the same. I really admire your efforts.

Sam,

Honestly, I can hardly believe that America spent billions of dollars just to get rid off Saddam and his never-existed weapons of mass destruction. To refer to a lesson we, as Iranians, learnt from history, CIA did not help overthrow Mussadeq’s democratically elected government just to make the world a better place.

By the way, if your soldiers’ aim was only about removing Saddam from power, I can suppose that a typical answer would be: “thank you, you are done. Leave now, please.”

Right at this point, tons of arguments are made regarding why coalition troops should stay in Iraq. “Leaving Iraq would lead to a stronger presence of Iran” is the main theme of such arguments. That seems true. However, as long as American agenda includes headlines other than just ‘freeing you from Saddam’, more demands should be met by the US.

And one more point:

They were there to free you from Saddam’s murderous repression, not resolve your internal religious and political struggles.

Have you ever tried to open a fuel tank sealer and make it clear to molecules: “Now, you are free from tank’s repression. Solve your internal conflict. And here is match. Thank you.”

since 2003 i was one of larg part of people how advice amercians ,and UN agencies to learn what is going on before handing people money ,but till 2008 they start to listen but after what? your troops are trap btween kurds and arb another conflict created by bush adminstration when they did not solve the kirkuk problem from day one , they are trap btween goverment army and walkining troops another think they created because from 2003 we told them do not let the building of iraqi army be on sacterian background cause when you want to leave each group will run after you ,listen to us ,but they decied to listen to the people they brought with them ,the same ones who told them a bout mass destruction weapons ,and people like me we had only to write articals to warn and give advice,
we want to solve our struggels but the problem is that amercia and iran are helping the big parties with sacterian idologies ,we got only our selfs to fight for conflict resolution and peace building and democracy

You are describing life before Saddam! You are destined to remain in your present conditions until you learn the art of win-win negotiation, stop your ridiculous infighting, and learn how to get along. Your angers seem endless to me. Get a grip and learn how to think clearly. Our soldiers are not your police force. They were there to free you from Saddam's murderous repression, not resolve your internal religious and political struggles. That part is up to you.
