For your thesis I would suggest that you can use the example of the Free Kareem Campaign on how international awareness (through online activism) contributed to his safety and in some way his sanity knowing that the world was supporting him, especially considering the fact that his own family had abandoned him. All he had was his supporters and people who are fighting for his freedom. The campaign collected donations for him and sent it to him in prison, and allowed thousands of people to send postcards, letters of support, and material to his cell.

I think you should use the example of the Committee to Protect Bloggers as well and how they&#039;ve developed many key concepts when it comes to activism towards the freedom of imprisoned bloggers. 

Recently we have been working on another campaign which has to do with sending postcards to innocent prisoners in Iran, such as women&#039;s rights activists, bloggers, members of minorities and others.
