Shall the palestians demolish Hamas?
April 14th, 2009First of all let’s not forget that hamas established by Israel in the first intifada on 1987. Here I’m confused how an Islamic group established by the enemy and what was their interest and for what …. it’s the same situation with Saddam and Ben Ladin they all established by the USA and later they decided to continue by themselves.
Hamas is Islamic group that believe they can get Palestine back to Palestinians and I’m talking here about the historical Palestine (Israel + West Bank), for me I don’t believe this because Hamas now is small group takeover Gaza strip and they having their rules …but the question is how Hamas will get Palestine back and in the same time they are terrorist group for the whole world …if we watch whats happening now in Middle East we can see that hamas is really terrorists group and terrorists doesn’t mean killing the others but they killed their own people.
It’s logic to declare the end of the truce between Israel and hamas and starting launching the missiles to Israel and the consequences was thousands of injured people and thousands of people been killed how can you do such thing and they know that Israel will hit Gaza but what about these people who bean killed or lost his family or his work for what they did this its for the political positions…hamas dreaming to takeover the west bank and Gaza and do Islamic country and they saying the people who died are shaheed and this shaheed died for khaled meshaal and abu hania interests one of them want to be the precedent and the other want to be the vice or something..hamas changed their target from Islamic to politically but in the name of Islam…sarcasm situation people dying like sheep for these people.
Hamas brainwash people good specially the old generation and believes them because the old generation have limited education and don’t know the real goals of hamas ….for me hamas does not present the Palestinians and will not and i like to send message to hamas and tell them please stop your stupid actions because its not the real time for this shit we are in very sensitive situation and we have to take advantage and forget Iran and its money because Iran have a big interest to keep the middle east in chaos to convince the world that im Muslim country and i want to get Palestine as Muslim country back to Palestinians and the Israeli occupation have nuclear weapons and they might attack us so we have to do nuclear weapons to defend ourselves….for how long this sarcasm will be.
Enough please people tired of this shit and they need to live freely and in peace and stop your personal interests and stay with the Palestinian authority to take advantage of the golden chance that we will get back our Palestine not by your stupid missiles that only can do small hole in wall against organize and strong army and proof you want peace to the world because Israel will use the disreunion between Hamas and the Palestinian authority for its advantage because simply the world cant help us if we are fighting each other and you have to be one government not two and simply natanyaho will say to world with whom i have to do peace with the government of hamas in Gaza or the Palestinian authority in west bank.
Finally from my opinion as well if Hamas still in this situation and does not collaborate with Palestinian authority that’s having one mean its hamas get paid to be wall in front of any kind of peace….

HAMAS is a product of the failuer of arbic parties to take strong united stands , we after 60 years of the palestianen cause still lack resonoble arbic front to advocate for the rights of palestianians ,we still look to it as muslim issue while many of christian and even jewsh orgin arabs still live there and suffer from occupation
hamas is very succesful in gurella wars and had big street network of life-lines to provied human security for hamas people , which control the lifes of people in Gaza ,
all this present that if we want to solve the issue there we need to start a united front of activests to lobby for dialogue btween the big parties in both sides
and we need to start a media campains to stop the radical groups of brainwashing people minds ,our arbic media is a disapointment and they are good in creating conflicts other than showing the truth

The extremists, whether on the Palestinians side, or on the Israeli side, pretend that they stand for the welfare of the common man. But in reality, they are willing to sacrifice the good of the common man, for the sake of their own goal, which is to consolidate political power.
The extremists will use any argument that they can come up with to gain support for their cause, but their cause is usually out of step with the will of the people, or with the long term best interests of the people.
The best way to defeat the extremists, is to get into their head, and to do what they do only better. We need to co-opt their strategy and beat them at their own game. If they are ideological about violen Jihad, or about illegal settlements, or what have you, we should be ideological about common sense. If they invest peanuts in charitable handouts, we should invest some serious dollars in jobs; jobs which grow our economies, jobs which protect the environment, and jobs which help neutralize the hold of extremist thinking. If they sell a vision of hope for martyrdom, or paradise, or virgins, or a Greater Israel, or what have you, we should sell a Vision of Hope for Peace, Prosperity, and Freedom.
At every turn, we will beat the extremists at their own game, and thereby marginalize them in the eyes of their own people. In the final analysis, the ideological extremists will not be able to capture the public’s imagination, once people begin to imagine a better life for themselves.
Another way to deal with Hamas, or other groups like them, is to convince them that by competing for power legitimately, for example, by creating jobs, that they would be in a better position to compete with Fatah. Hamas may be willing to allow an industrial zone to be built between Gaza and Israel, which would create 200,000 good paying jobs. I know it sounds weird. But it is possible that 200,000 jobs would be a better way for Hamas to consolidate political control than by using terror. As you suggest, terror doesn’t really help the man on the street, but a good job goes a long way to meet the needs of the people.
I had the pleasure, recently, or meeting Senator George Mitchell, who is the U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, and who negotiated a peace agreement in Ireland. He succeeded in Ireland by convincing the I.R.A. to compete for power using legitimate means. I know it’s a stretch, but is it just possible that Hamas could be similiarly convinced?
i think the first thing to do is to stop supporting them financially because there is some people or some coutries support them to implement their goals ….we have to be ware of iran the big devil

Mohammed, there are things we can do, and things we can’t. It is very difficult to influence what Iran does, because Iran has her agenda, and a good part of that agenda is ideological. They want to dominate the region, and they want to do so ideologically. There are some people in the world who believe in what they want to believe, and for whom the truth is just a side issue. Iran has a group within its ranks that fits into this category, even though the vast majority of Iranians would not necessarily agree.
What we can do is to create jobs. This is in our power, including the U.S., the Western world, and Israel as well. If you create good paying jobs, you will have created a new reality on the ground, a reality which will influence everything else. Business creates its own ideological imperative. Once people are making money, and providing for their families, they have no patience for ideological nonsense. Once people have a place at the table, a stake in their future, they would fight against anyone who would take that future away.
By empowering the man on the street, with good paying jobs, we will automatically send the message to the extremists that a new day has dawned. With a little bit of luck, we may actually convince some of the extremists to rely on legitimate means for consolidating political power, as opposed to illegitimate means like terror. Let Hamas and Fatah compete with each other about who can create more jobs, and let the people decide who should rule. I think that this is probably the only way to peace.

The same thing can be said about Israel, in my opinion, so this argument is hardly a convincing one. Iran is far from the only government that has an agenda. Find me a single government that doesn’t.
It is true, Esra’a, that every country on earth has some sort of agenda. And given Israel’s military might, it may be natural to assume that Israel is hell bent on dominating the region. And certainly, there may be some Israelis who think as such.
However, taking into consideration everything I know about Israel, I would paint a different picture when it comes to Israel. I see Israel wearing two hats. On the one hand, Israel’s single greatest motivation is her security. Bottom line, Israel will do everything in her power to survive. Israel is the homeland of the Jews, and given Jewish history, the right to survive is not to be taken for granted. The mantra of the Jews, and of Israel by implication, is “never again.” And in defending herself, Israel would prefer to over-react than to seem weak, because in her mind, weakness spells her downfall. So, for example, if Israel was not victorious in 2006 in Lebanon, then she will over-react in Gaza, just to maintain her military credibility, because she considers this essential for her survival.
On the other hand, and based on everything I know about Israelis, I wholeheartedly believe that Israel wants and needs peace, and that under the right circumstances, she has in the past, and will in the future, make painful concessions for peace. She had the opportunity to make a cold peace with Egypt, and she jumped at the chance. And so too with Jordan. And when Barak and Clinton sat down with Arafat and offered a peace deal in the year 2000, I believe that the offer was made in good faith, and was close to meeting most of the Palestinian demands. And if I am informed correctly, a simlilar deal has been agreed to by Abbas, and Livni, but tabled for the moment.
So this is the duality that helps to explain Israel. She will fight fiercely for her security, but her ultimate security is peace, and she knows it, and she will fight for peace as well, under the right circumstances, circumstances which we can help bring about, and which may well be transpiring even as we speak.
I think that Israel and Iran have very different agendas. Iran wants to dominate the region. Israel wants to survive and thrive, but has no intentions to impose her religion on the region, or to foist upon the region an extemist ideological mindset. However, until peace comes, and God-willing it will come soon, Israel will act to secure herself, even if some of those actions will look like extremism to the rest of the world.

There is no question, Mohammed, that the prospects for a conflict between Israel and Iran are getting more likely. The two are quickly reaching an impasse, an impasse that may be very difficult to avoid through negotiation.
As I said before, Israel wants peace, but needs security even more. A nuclear Iran, together with an ideological Iran, is a very dangerous mix. For Israel, the possibility of a nuclear Iran, given her ideological mindset, poses an existential risk which Israel may not be able to take. And the funny thing is that other nations in the Middle East, and beyond, are beginning to feel the same way. I don’t really think that Egypt, or Saudi Arabia, or Jordan, etc. would be particularly comfortable with Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons.
For Iran, the development of nuclear weapons is seen as indispensable on many levels. It is a source of national pride. It is seen as a counter to a nuclear Israel, and a nuclear West. It is a safeguard against outside interference. It is a way of consolidating political power in the region. And for some, it is seen as the playing out of a collective national destiny that has been foretold in holy scripture.
How will Iran be able to walk away from nuclear weapons when so much is at stake? How will Israel and other nations be willing to take the risk that is implicit in a nuclear Iran?
And so, like you say Mohammed, the risk of conflict between these two nations is increasing by the minute. And like Esra’a says, both nations have their respective agendas. And where do the rest of us stand? The risks that are inherent in military conflict are the same risks that are borne by all of us. It is tempting sometimes just to let things play themselves out, as if those things won’t really affect us. But when it comes to nuclear weapons, whatever happens way out there, will come to haunt us here at home.
It is possible to avert a crisis of this sort. But it will require a coming together on a scale never seen before. We will have to let go of some of what we believe, in favor of what makes sense, in favor of something we can believe in even more, like peace. We will have to invest in one another to create jobs which grow our economies, which protect our environment, and which help to neutralize the hold of extremist thinking. We will have to inspire one another with a vision of hope, a vision of peace, prosperity, and freedom. We will have to sustain the hope with public diplomacy. And when necessary, and it will be necessary, we will have to fight against the forces of extremism, but also, we will have to position the fight within a Vision of Hope. We will raise the fight on the ground to a higher moral plain by giving the fight a moral clarity of purpose. People will fight harder once they know what they’re fighting for. We are not fighting a “war against terror.” We are fighting a war to realize a Vision of Hope. There’s a big difference.

…imagine Singapore that small country having economy 4 times bigger than the whole Arab countries economy…its funny to say Arabic economy because our economy is nothing to compare with other industrial countries…
Mohammed, believe it or not, I am beginning to meet people with the power, and the wealth, who are actually in a position to help turn the Arab economies around. They have to be convinced, but they are gradually coming around. The reason they may become convinced to create jobs in the Middle East is not because they want to do a favor for me or you. The reason is that economic development may be the only way to effectuate change, and to bring about the possibility of peace.
Jobs are ideologically neutral. People need to work, and this is a universal need. Therefore, at a time when there are so many ideological obstacles which keep us apart, we need something, like jobs, which would help us break the impasse we’re in, and which will point us in the right direction. Even though jobs are ideologically neutral, they can be used to create a new reality on the ground. I am fond of saying that business creates its own ideological imperative. Once people are making money together, they have little time or patience for ideological nonsense. Once people are earning a living, and creating a better life for themselves, they will fight anyone who would take that life away.
For countries like Saudi Arabia, or Egypt, or Jorday, or even Palestine, or almost any Arab country, job creation and eocnomic development represent a practical way of moving forward, and breaking the chains of ideological extremism.
I am trying to create an actual project on the ground which would respresent the idea of Selling a Vision of Hope. I want to build a factory in the West Bank, which uses Israeli nanotechnology research, and Palestinian workers and managers, to create a green energy product of some special significance. Saudi financing would be the icing on the cake and would say to the world that oil profits are being used to create green profits, and that good paying jobs are being used to neutralize the hold of extremist thinking. A project of this sort would attract a lot of worldwide attention, and a lot of additional investment dollars. What begins as a single solitary project could well end us as a movement for change.
I would be happy to work with anyone who would like to make such a project happen. At first it may seem impossible. But as I like to say, considering the alternative, this may well be the time, before time runs out, to dream the impossible, and to make the impossible come true.
i wish that dear ….because we in middle east really needs projects and work offers for people ….it will increase the extremists and make people living good …and the most important thing is corruption its like bug sucking the bloods……we need alot of things and i think its the time to invest in middle east to make it developed region and it will help for peace process because the most important thing is food and housing that’s the most thing humans needs…..
