there is a big problem and i don’t thing oneday any writer wrote anything like this article they might consider it as forbidden talk or something its impolitely to speak about it but what im talking about is problem and this problem harming many women around the Arab word …the problem that the Arabs men are not good enough in bed with their wives or girlfriends because the lack of sexual education which still consider as forbidden in schools and forbidden from the parents to talk about it to her or to him and in this way they bury their natural instinct …. we have two problems the guys cant satisfy women and women don’t know how to satisfy their husbands and in final we facing cheating problem from one of them or both…..and the other problem we having here that women cant tell their husband that i still away of the orgasm and you have to improve your way and this is called selfishness but women cant say that because some husbands cant accept this and that’s mean he is not man enough…its really complicated issue but what i wrote is nothing about this social problem

i am a psychological counseler based in the gulf and in my ten yrs. of practise here with mostly female clients, i can confirm that there is a lot of sexual pervertness and dissatisfaction here. many females complain of lack of sexual pleasure from their husbands,boyfriends and lovers. Many of them are not sexually satisfied but cannot tell their husbands and lovers that since it would be considered unmanly and a deep personal insult to the ego of that man. A very few who have told or tried to tell where severely beaten and accused of being pervert or nymphomaniac. Some of them were divorced and sent back in shame to their families. i think the problem is mostly cultural and religious. Even many educated gulf arabs females suffer from this problem. They are trapped in a loveless marriage and cannot confront their husbands and lovers. and many men here would consider that as their being impotent, a big insult here. Many of the females, shockingly mostly married, confessed to me how they wanted to take another secret lover but it is a very big risk. Not all females who are unsatified have affairs but sadly most do. The danger of being discovered and punished does not really offset the chances taken by such females. Most upper class and rich women travel abroad to europe and go for a sexual spree—if they are really rich, they pay and retain handsome and fit young italian and french lovers. if they are just so-so rich, they tip some modest or even handsome amount to a young bellboy in the hotel they are staying at, and experience sexual relief which their husbands could not provide. The not so rich who cannot travel abroad, either find shelter within their own sex (that explains why there is so much lesbianism here) or just make do with fantasy sex (masturbation). The very few who do have affairs which is a very big risk, is within their families, ie. male cousins, brother in laws, a divorced male co-worker etc. I have many female clients for example in their early or mid fourteez who have affair with their 12 or 14 yr old male nephew or one of his friends or have a lesbian affair with one of her sister in laws etc. This is very sad and even more ironic that most of these females are educated and come from for the most part well to do families but since their men either out of intense ego and/or stone aged traditions and cultures cannot accept their impotence and force their females to suffer psychologically and emotionally.

However, the problem seems to be that there is a dearth of willingness to discuss sex related topics due to the more conservative nature of Arab society. If Heba Qutb pleases neither moderates nor hyper-conservatives what sort of people or methods could serve as an instrument of change? This of course isn’t just a problem in the Middle East, this of course is a problem basically everywhere. For the most part I agree that it is a complicated issue. If women aren’t feeling satisfied it’s probably because they know how to communicate their needs. Sure men need to learn to satisfy women, but it is also the woman’s responsibility to communicate what her sexual needs are. That’s why it is important for people to be able to discuss sex openly and in an honest manner. Therefore, both men and women can communicate their sexual needs. I also think it’s unfortunate that people feel that have to seek sexual pleasure outside of their relationship.

As Muslims we must wash ourselves before we stand up in prayer to pray, man and woman. After going toilet and having sexual intercourse as Muslims we have to purify ourselves. If a woman had sexual contact with her husband, they both have to purify themselves with water, if there is no water, they may use sand.

So my point in all of this is to say that the West should not be the standard for freedom in relationships. One should not look to America or the UK or any other european country for an influence. We don’t have it right… and in fact we’re fighting to make it right because it’s gotten a bit out of hand. As I said, when a country is created to appease everyone, then everyone is subjected to everyone elses addictions and desires. This is not how relationships should be. However, one thing I do appreciate that we have here is sexual education courses. Children learn how children are made minus all the explicit details. They learn about marriage and they learn that it’s a very sacred and important act that can not be taken lightly. From there it’s up to the parents to create a household that produces healthy minded individuals However, our daughters and sons are not resorted to being petrified, terrified shaking victims in the bedroom on their wedding night and they do not continue their lives with the husband chasing down the wife for sexual gratification where niether of them are happy and they either suffer in silence, divorce, resort to adultery or depending on the country and culture, polygamy. I believe the East is very lucky that instead of having a society where sexual images and so forth are forced on TV and in the world where we fight to have any kind of pure life we can have, Instead you have a very conservative lifestyle and can judge for yourselves in your household what, when, and how much knowledge to give your children and progress it at your own personal discression as they grow and come into a position where it’s time to understand their thoughts and seek answers.

1st of all we in the Arab and Muslim world must stop treating sex as a tabou subject. Only when we all can talk openly about sexual problems that solutions emerge. I read hear that Arab men consider impotancy as a deep insult. What kind of a backwards mentality is that ? If a man is impotent, is is not his fault, it is an illness that Allah gave him, this my statement and I am a men that enjoys normal and straight sexual apetite. People should not be ashamed of illnesses they have no control of. I think it is a cultural problem rather than it is an individual or genetic problem in Arabs. I have traveled to so many places , and out of that I got the idea that Arabs are good looking and have a very attractive character ( yet disgusting when they become hyper-conservative). If women have so little voice and sexuality is so repressed a topic, what chance is there for a good sex life for most people? add in the radical difference in age between so many arab couples. I feel for those women on a number of levels. That said I’m sure many couples work though it even without ever talking about it.
