It reminds me of an interview I saw of Suha Arafat back in 1996. She was telling Hillary Clinton that the zionists were putting chemicals in their water to give the palestinians cancer. Hillary thought it was crazy and ignored the comment. The press made Arafat out to be an insane person. Years later, I read a report of settlements not conforming to Israeli environmental policies in the West Bank because no one enforced the policies. The chemicals from factories in Ariel were spilling into the wadis and then into the water supply. Palestinian villages down the hill were being affected. Suddenly I understood what Suha Arafat was ltrying to say- Israeli settlers were not caring about the environment, spilling chemicals that affected Palestinians (maybe even cancerous chemicals but this was not proven). But the message was lost in Suha Arafat’s crazy way of describing the situation- that there is a plot to give Palesitnians cancer. If she had been rational and logical in her thinking and explanation, there likely would have been changes. Instead she recreated the dynamics of insanity and nothing changes.
