Bedouinism And The “Peace” Process
July 9th, 2009Bedouinesm is trans-national because the bedouins themselves are in everlasting travel as they are itinerant looking for water and food everywhere in the barren desert. Just to give you example of our very tribe (regardless of the number that we usually exaggerate “100,000″ men, that women and children are not counted in our culture) are spread on three countries, Palestine, Egypt and Jordan. We used to have a yearly travel extending for Sinai up to “beyond Haifa” north and sometimes “beyond, beyond Haifa”, and that was before the Zionists invaded Palestine and made their own borders and segregation walls to revive their ghetto again.

We, bedouins, have very weak psychological ties to land and we consider (just like the zionists) wherever our camels (tanks, in the zionist case) can reach is our land, and accordingly the spacious world is our home (probably like the gypsies in the European culture). However, we are the remnants of the Islamic worrier society and have a high sense of dignity and self-esteem (though, I personally dont).
The Jordanian kingdom is based on the “Hashemite” bedouin family (and I dont wants to say dynasty) that is originally from Iraq and took the rule of Jordan just recently. The Jordanian population structure is very complicated as jordan is formed of approximately 65% of Palestinian refugees and less than 20% of bedouins (specially in the south) who are ruling the country and the “regime” depends heavily on the bedouin tribes to suppress the peasants and the Palestinian refugees.
The Jordanian ruling “dynasty” is a peaceful one that depends, in its financial, military and political support, on the annual US aids and they dont really care much about the Palestinians or anybody else as their national slogan says “Jordan First” and final, of course. But, the Jordanian ruling family in real horror now fearing (a potential) and expected new wave of Palestinian refugees, which would change the demographic structure dramatically there, and therefore they (truly) work on finding (a kind of peaceful) settlement for the on going struggle, to avoid its catastrophic effects not on the Palestinians but on Jordan itself.
Can Jordan be an “impartial” mediator? They tried and trying but the problem is a zionist one not Jordanian, that the Zionist project is targeting the whole of historic Palestine and I really dont think that the Israelis, regardless of the (uncountable) mediators including the Americans (if they are mediators, anyway), the Europeans, the Russians, the moderate “moderate” or the surrendering arabs… etc, who have been working on finding a peaceful settlement, really want peace as they (the zionists) want the whole cake without giving nothing!!! Do we need another mediator? I dont believe that would help but all what we need is a true will for peace which the zionist entity (as a colonial regime) dosnt really have!!

Very nice informative article.
What’s the reason for Jordan fearing a new wave of Palestinians?
Lilia,
As you might know over 65% of the Jordanian inhabitants are Palestinian refugees who were expelled by the zionists from Palestine in the different wars. Israel is based on the “yeshuv” mentality which means occupying more and more land in different ways as it was stated by the earlier zionists leader of stealing “another sheep, another donum” until they take over the whole of Palestine, and to some of them (Jabotenski) to take Palestine and Jordan, and this of course is to be done step by step as you can notice from the zionist strategy since almost 100 years, or even 150 years ago as the first zionist Yeshuv was established on the “Turkish” Palestine.
The zionists want the land, and only the land (their promised land anyway, that is “without people for a people without land” as they used to lie) and for sure they dont want the Palestinian natives to stay on Palestine, so they implement different policies starting from terrorizing the Palestinians with the consecutive massacres, demolishing their houses, taking their land, imprisoning them in ghettos, and all is done to force the natives out as now most of the Palestinians are expelled out of Palestine to live a humble life as refugees in the four sides of the Planet !!! But still, there are lots of Palestinians left on their homeland, and they are a growing demographic reality !! However, the racist zionists, who want it a “pure jewish” state, still are in horror of the growing number of the Palestinians, and they are preparing to kick them out to Jordan (some zionist leaders say it frankly and explicity that the homeland of the Palestinians is no place other that Jordan) and in the last year they said it repeatedly in a clear intention to kick the rest of the Palestinians (specially those in the West Bank) to Jordan !!!
Accordingly, the Jordanian regime (which is already exhausted by the Palestinian majority) is in real horror of an expected new wave of Palestinians that would be kicked out to Jordan when the time comes and when the international situation (would be) suitable for that !! Could this happen? I belive it would, specially that we see that the zionists are not only refusing to make peace but also going ahead in stealing the remnant land and demolishing the remnant houses!!!… And if this happened, Jordan would have a disaster of social disorder, economic catastrophe and that would lead to the collapse of the Hashimite “dynasty” not being able to stabilize a situation in which there would be some 90% of the population frustrated Palestinian refugees !!
However, even if this happened (which is a fearful , but realist nightmare for the Palestinians) the Israeli and the American forces would fight to keep their agent of regime in Jordan as they did in 1970 !!!

Dear Sami,
Thanks alot for this kinds of information which I found it very useful. It full of the truth, But I will take this part and start to talk to you as a jordanian girl who have a mother from palestine !!!
“they dont really care much about the Palestinians or anybody else as their national slogan says “Jordan First” and final, of course. But, the Jordanian ruling family in real horror now fearing (a potential) and expected new wave of Palestinian refugees, which would change the demographic ”
I will leave my identity for a seconds and tell you, for all the palestinians people you are more than welcome to come to jordan, and I really understand the number of 65% for me this number mean alot, But I will be afraid if the palestinians people will leave the country for Israel, that’s mean you accept them as a part of the region although the International community accepted them, and that mean you leave the holy place for them which a part of our religion!!!, maybe you will tell me that this holy place for all arab people and I will answer yes yes yes no one will deny about and I am so proud of that, But what happened right now that the international pushed already to make the issue just between Palestine and Israel and you can find the by the name of the conflict, In the past the conflict was called as Arab-Israeli conflict and right now the called it as Israeli-Palestinian conflict !!! they want us to forget about Palestine and forget about what happened for the people for long time and still happening. This for me the most important thing another thing to add, and that means you don’t care about your identity as a palestinian!!!
I wish and I would love to visit Palestine and I will do the best to go there, why not ???
Best Regards,
Amani

Amani,
First, no Palestinian leaves his home and go away to live a humble life as a refugee… All the Palestinians were forced by horror and terror of the consecutive zionist massacres that were done specially to terrorize the Palestinians to run away leaving their homes and paving the way for a “pure jewish state… I bet, now we are aware of this strategy and all the people here say they they prefer to die and not to repeat the experience of their brothers who are living a miserable life everywhere (specially in Lebanon) as a second-class citizins..
Second, I know perfectly that the Palestinians and the Jordanians are more than brothers sharing the same history and land, I actually see the Natural Syria, starting form Sinai up to Turkey as one historic and geographical unit… a great part of our tribe is in Jordan and also I have close relatives there…
The arab countries are artificial creation of the Colonizers as Britain and France divided us to reign early in the last century.. and accordingly we dont have to make a clear cut division between any arab region and the other as …
I am aginst the totalitarian and Feudal arab regimes who play a great part in dividing us, the arab people, for them to stay on the thrones sucking our blood and using the resources for their families… and make us fight in the name of stupid slogans (Palestine First, Jordan first, or the “supreme interest of the Saudi People”) for example… and they use these slogans only against their arab brothers…
Palestine is an arab issue and the Arabs will never be free (as if they are free now) unless they defeat the zionist entity and regain their unity…. Look at Iran, how they are fighting for their rights and dignity.. and look at our regimes how they humbly serve the Americans and the zionists … Shall we hail for our feudal regimes and repeat their stupid slogans ???!!!
all the best Amina,
