W,

A "democracy" for one race that heaps 1500 dead civilians with its machinery of banned and fatal weapons in just 20 days, is not a democracy, its a racist regime. Please remember that !!

Sami,

Elections are great, when the ruling regime doesn't kill hundreds of people afterwards. Please remember that.

All the best ALL Irania,

I really, really appreciate the Iranian people. They teach us, the arabs, a new lesson every time we forget they are great. At least they are building a great powerful nation that has dignity and self respect, while our Arab leaders are just servants for the Americans and the international zionism. They stood for their rights and spoke up for their rights in democratic elections, while we still adore the feudal regimes that never knew elections at all !!!

Why we, the Arabs, should criticize the Iranian elections while still dont have our elections, but feudal backward regimes who are begging the zionist for "peace", what a piece of...!!! ??
Peace on Iran !!!

All the best Iranians,
I love you all

Sami, the Palestinian !!!

Of course Ahmady is going to nominate women. To him it's a popular gesture to obviously have the many abuses of women's right's during his first term, and the atrocities done by the post-election activists to be forgotten.

This gesture is in no way a sign of reform. These new women cabinet nominees are first of all hard-line Ahmadinejad supporters, whom last year supported Ahmadinejad's law bill which would would have made it easier for a man to marry a second wife. Not to mention the fact that these women are firm defenders of gender segregation in every public setting from schools, parks, and transportation. They also think that a women's priority duty in life is to serve their husband, and to raise kids.

So explain to me in what way would these specific women defend 'women's rights' ? In fact having religious cooks like these in power would make life even worse for women in the future (can you say obligatory head-to-toe covering?). These women are just as sexist as the misogynous, conservative men who speak of women's issues. For crying out loud, one of them asked for hospitals to be segregated!

You call it a mature act, I call it a 'tactic' to soften the voice of Ahmady's opposition. Ahmady's appointment of these three hard-line women just signifies Ahmady’s desire to control the leadership of three important ministries that mainly cover and serve the middle class families in Iran.
