Latest Video: United for Baha’i Human Rights

August 30th, 2009Esra'a (Bahrain)

We are extremely excited to release our latest video, which has been in the works for quite some time now. Abuses against the innocent Baha’i minority in Iran have been committed for over 30 years. Inspired by the reactions of Iran’s latest election, where many Iranians took to the streets to demand change and respect for their human rights, we felt that a new video was in order, especially after this powerful video (whose chants we used in the background to one of this video’s scenes.)

To truly explore the amount of abuse the Iranian regime has been committing against the Baha’i minority in Iran, please explore this extensive timeline.

For the past 30 years, followers of the Baha’i Faith in Iran have been lynched, falsely imprisoned, vilified and driven out of their homes. Baha’i children have been deprived of their right to an education, adults have been prevented from earning a livelihood and thousands of families had their properties illegally confiscated by the government.

But the Iranian regime would have us believe that its the innocent party in these circumstances. It continues to deny that it harbors any intentions to eradicate the Baha’i community, while employing all possible means to slander and denigrate the memories of its victims. We need to fight for their human rights.

We are Muslims for Baha’i human rights.

in the most Arabic countries shia Muslims have been living under oppression and no one cry for their right …Yemen Jordan Bahrain, UAE, KSA…….

  3. Samimaneh you don’t seem to know much about Arab countries if you’re really going as far as to compare the status of these injustices.

What Shias and Baha’is go through is incomparable in every sense of the word.

Shias here aren’t undergoing genocide and secondly, let me remind you that over 80% of Bahrain are Shia. The discrimination is there and most are applicable to all citizens including Sunni Muslims, but the situation is nowhere NEAR as violent as what the Baha’is suffer through.

What rights exactly did you want us to cry for? Their right to live? They already have that. Their right to conduct business? They already have that. The right to be visible members of their sect? They already have that. Their right to bury their loved ones? They already have that. The right to education? They already have that. The right to get married? They already have that. The right to give birth? They already have that. The right to health care? They already have that. The right to travel? They already have that. Their right to practice any aspect of their faith? They already have that.

Baha’is don’t have any of those making their situation completely urgent.

In fact I am surrounded by Shias in the Gulf who are absolutely shocked and disgusted by what Baha’is are going through and one of the people helping out with BahaiRights.org is an Arab Shia herself.

Stop diverting attention away from reality in a very shallow attempt to defend your government from brutally abusing the Baha’i minority.
