IDOL POLLUTING THE ENVIRONMENT

The news said the Hindu’s god Ghanesha gives the people knowledge and help people to overcome the obstacle. And Hindu’s ritual is that they make the idol from the earth material then it has to go back to the earth.
Hindu made their idol from clay, plastics and painted with the lead and mercury. These two metals has harmful effect to the human body. Any way, after worship the Ghanesha’s idol, the Hindu submerge the God Ghanesha’s idol in the sea, river and other water sources which cause the pollution to the water. Did They tried to raise the question? Can god pollute our environment?
Is CNN to Bringing the issue like God Ghanesha’s idol polluting our environment was appropriate ? When this is the religious matter and sometime consider it is as an touch matter which should be avoided. If it should be avoided then what about the ‘Freedom of Speech’. What about telling the truth. And media also has the responsibility to make people health conscious and to advice the people to avoid the danger. Please make a comment.

if god pollute our environment, we should revolt against the God.
Hi Anwar, though irrelevent to the scope of this forum, this is a very important issue. Not only the ganesha idol, all kind of idols in india are submerged in water. Which is fine as long as the harmful material in the paints do not pollute the watebodies. I think the use of natural colors instead of metallic salt based colors may solve the problem. This requires widespread awareness among common people about the dangers and fortunately a number of environment groups have been working in India to achieve that.

thank you for your comment. Part of the religion is base on the belief. Hinduism may be the same. If they have already established belief that their God has certain preference then how could you change their belief. What should we do about it. If they not want to change their practice.
Thats what the groups are doing, and we hope the attitudes of the people change. We have seen these kind of problems before in india, and people have reacted positively to many change. it will take some time, but judging on precedences, there is no reason to believe that it will fail. In India, the hindus, apart from a handful of religious nutcases, have been open to the changes in the society, belief, rituals and traditions. If they find any old ritual is meaningless or inapplicable to the modern society and civilization, they will reject it without any qualms or arrogant defence of the same citing tradition or identity, as they did in the past.
All my life I heard that God and his prophet’s word can not be change. It is like a frame of a building. If anyone twist the frame of a building, they destroy the building. One human being can’t be the God of other human being and can’t make something their own and tell other people to follow it. Real god has nothing to do with the people invention except to punish them to compete with the God. It is shocking to learn that in the Hunduism, if they want they can change when it is necessary. And it change.
that kind of flexibility and pragmatism should be admired. Especially when it is about a somewhat trivial aspect of the religion, not a major ethical premise.
Ali Hossain, a little bit more shock for you, if I may. Hinduism even recognizes a sect known as “nastiks” which means people who do not believe in God or any religious rituals in Hinduism. How about that??
As a matter of fact, I dont know if Hinduism can be even called a religion in the strictest sense (the way we mean Islam or Chritianity) as it doesnt have a central creed. Since it is structurally so different from the Abrahamic faiths, the analogies of frames and buildings becomes different for Hinduism.
Change is not seen as destruction by the Hindus, but rather a redesign of the building, according to the needs of time, using the intelligence, logic and practical sense given by God to the humans. Hindus dont consider changes against the will of God, whose root runs deep into the historically diverse socio-cultural milieu in India.
There is one and Only God. All religions’ people will admit. One God created all the human being to worship him. All religions’ people will admit. When there is contradiction one religion to other then all religions are not from the true god or religion was corrupted by the human being. Some religions are man made which real god has nothing to do except to punish the people who deny him and his prophet which include agnostic. It is duty of the every people to search the truth to save their soul (which religion is the true religion). Or severe punishment will wait for then which will last for ever. Worshiping idol is making god small. God created billions of Stars. Think about his power. And some people are thinking he was made of clay. This does not fit with the power of god we experience. Only Mohammed (PBUH) doctrine fits with the power of God we experience, because Mohammed (PBUH) got message from the true god. His messages are the guide for the people to save their soul from the hell fire. no one can’t change God’s message because human being is nothing compare to God.
Just to let you know that I am not Hindu, I have rejected faith altogether and now an atheist. So there is no reason for me to defend Hinduism. But it seems you know nothing about Hinduism. Anyway, this is not a theology forum. I wont waste server space here discussing an irrelevent topic.
As roodrow said, I know nothing about the Hinduism. When I see the news that a Hindu was converted to Christian and some Hindu forcefully let him to eat the Soup of the Cow dung to purify him and and when I told my Christian Friends about it and they felt disgust about it and when Hinduism gives us felling that it was created by some cunning people to oppress the people and it does not has equal right to all it follower. then I think it is just wasting time to know further about this religion. Only need to gave the message to it followers that you people are denying the true god who create you to worship him.
