Which of the ahadith and Sunnah are uncorrupted? Pt. 11
Allah uses the word SUNNAH (soon-nah) and its derivatives to let us know how He does things and the results of how people live(d) according to His scheme. The words phonetically are soon-na-ta, soon-na-to and le-soon-na-te. And are translated into the English as: way(s), practice, what happened, example(s) and punishment. Allah is very predictable because He never changes His Sunnah or violates His laws. His statements concerning His unchanging Nature is found in the Holy Book, Malachi 3:1-(6).
Malachi 3:1-(6) 1Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. 2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: 3 And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. 4 Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years. 5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts. 6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

I was just wondering where does the author come with his information from? even most of the versus he quoted from Quran doesn’t say that SUNNAH means the way people lived their lives according to His scheme, the Kahf and Ahzab sora , the word SUNNAH here means as it means everywhere else in Quran and in Arabic, the word itself means “a way things are being done or a way things happen” , so that means that I have a sunnah, you have a sunnah and every person has one, what gives a meaning to the word is “Al Modaf Eleeh” the word that follows the word SUNNAH, which in the above cases the meaning varies, so one of the meaning was the one you stated , the way god does things and the way things go according to his will, the meanings in Al Kahf and Al Ahzab, “SUNNATO AL AWALEEN” is the way things used to happen to those who disbelieve and seek harm to other beings or to the nature (and that’s of course is not what god’s scheme is) and the last verse you quoted from Quran Fath Sura, doesn’t say that god is predictable, yes it says that the way god does thing is fixed and it’s the same but also if you read Quran it says ” En Allaha Yafalo Ma Yoreed” which means god does what he wants , so if he wants to change this way of doing things or the way things happen “SUNNAH” he could change it and there’s a lot of examples of that in the universe in human beings, animals, mountains, seas etc.. where things should go in a specific order to get a specific result but they don’t and you found some wonders or miracles that the reasons for their existence is still mysterious and unknown, so thanks for the article and please make sure you know exactly what you’re talking about.
Thank you
Ahmed; thank you for your comments, and definitions. This is what I was hoping would happen in the comments section.
Allah tells us that The Qur’an gives the best explanation of what He, Allah, is saying. He also says that each of His revealed verses (ayat) are signs–they have a meaning that has to be taught to one because they are not the object of the subject. Some people think that Prophet Muhammad (s.) is the only being with a sunnah. That attitude is what led me to title these pages with the title they have.
Seeing (knowing) more fully how Allah uses the term(s), and using their meaning(s) when and as needed, will help us to derive the better approach to dealing with our situations. That is one of the reasons that Allah commands us to think deeply, to ponder over, His Qur’an.
Allah is predictable in that He always gave, gives, and will give good for good and bad or negative for bad or negative deeds. No one knows for sure what the good or negative will be, when it will happen, how it will happen, where it will happen, and or the quantity and or quality of the good blessing(s), or bad or negative punishment(s).
Often the past tense in The Qur’an means the past, present, and future. That is one of the reasons that Allah tells us to study history so that we will learn (see) how He operates. This establishes the foundation(s) for faith, and He is letting us know that faith in Him helping us to do good is rewarded. And lack of faith in Him as we do things gets tharwted and or punished.
When we understand His revealed scripture(s) properly we know that we are His agents to His creation. And that we are here for one purpose only: To worship Him through voluntary, obedient service to Him according to the scripture that we use as our guiding light.
Allah says that He is the best of those who create. His laws that operate in nature, including people, are being discovered more and more. “Adam” (humanity) is still naming the things that Allah has created. And is now using, at will, what some have worshipped as gods and or called miracles.
All people of faith need to do as the studious Muslims did in the first one hundred or so years after the death of Prophet Muhammad (s.). They studied scripture, history, etc. and brought not only the Arabs into civil life but caused a renaissance in Europe that is fueling scientific knowledge today.
Paraphrased, Allah says that He will never change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves (nafs). He is predictable.
And according to a hadith He says that He has written down all of the good deeds and the bad ones. Then He explained it (saying) one who has intended a good deed and has not done it, He writes it down with Himself as a full good deed.
But if one intended it and does it, He writes it down with Himself as from ten good deeds to seven hundred times, or many times more.
But if one intended a bad deed and did not do it, He writes it down with Himself as one full good deed.
But if one intended a bad deed and does it, He writes it down as a bad deed.
Again thanks!
