Have you heard the Arabicast yet?!

December 9th, 2009Ahmed Zidan (Egypt)

“Arabicast Shabaket Shabab Ash-Sharq Al-Awsat.” Prepare yourself, as your ears will take on this frequently, since you’ll not stop listening to our Arabicasts. It reads, Middle East Youth Network Arabicast.

MEYCast has launched in December 2006, and here we go with the brand new Arabicast on December 2009. Not only 3 years since the MEYCast début, but also synchronously with the first anniversary of Mideast Youth Arabic.

We’re among the few leading Arabic opinion sites to include the podcasting service, since we follow the trace of every possible chance to reach to a wider audience of the Middle East youth out there.

The first episode of Arabicast project discusses the Conscription and Compulsory Military Service. We set some definitions at the beginning, then we spot on the conscription in the light of individual rights, then we review the conscription law around the world, and finally we praise the efforts of the Arabic Facebook group, “No to Compulsory Military Service.”

The intro, as well as the outro, are my own creative artwork. Except for embedding the intro of the second movement of Beethoven’s ninth symphony. We used it according to the law of copyright.

Soon, we’ll have our own iTunes Channel so that you could listen or download all the Arabicasts from one archived directory. However, now you can still do this from the Arabicasts category on the site itself.

Feel free to contact us for any comments, suggestions, or opinions. And finally enjoy listening to or downloading the first episode of MEYArabic Arabicast here.
