Bloodiest months in Iraq in two years
Several people were killed in Iraq in July than any other month during the past two years.
At least 16 people have been killed in a wave of attacks that struck Baghdad on Thursday. Meanwhile, at least five were killed in bomb attacks elsewhere in Iraq
A total of 396 civilians, about 100 insurgents, 89 policemen and 50 soldiers were killed, according to new figures from the government. Among those killed, several Iraqi policemen and soldiers, said the Iraqi Interior Ministry.
In Baghdad, armed attackers opened fire in several places Thursday, while several bombs went off. Everything happened according to Iraqi officials within 15 minutes.
13 people were killed when at least three explosions went off in the Sunni Muslim district of Al-Adhamiyah in the north of the city. There are also a number of shooting attacks have taken place. The attackers set fire to many of the bodies of the dead people, said interior ministry officials.
At least 14 people are injured after the attacks in the capital.
At the same time a car bomb in the air near the military base of Al-Sharqat north of Baghdad. In this attack, three soldiers were killed and twelve wounded.
The government surrounded Sunni areas in Baghdad ,starting large scale arrests camping randomly ,most of those arrested are among the voting population of al-iraqyia list the winning list in march election ,the arrests through light on revenge more than security strategy
At least 15 people were killed and 26 wounded when a car bomb exploded at a market in the town of Abu Sayda, A building collapsed partly because of the explosion, said Iraqi police. The wounded were taken to hospitals in the cities of Baquba and Muqdadiya,the insurgents group are controlling the sunni-shia mix city ,while the government dine that and clam they arrested many of their leader ,in the same time 4 leaders of insurgents escaped this week a tight security prison with the aid of the prison warden ,another sign of collapse security in a country with no government for past 4 months
Previously, both American and Iraqi authorities warned that violence in the country may increase as time passes without the country get any new government. Nearly five months after the last parliamentary elections in progress there are still negotiations over who will control Iraq, till now the signs show no near future agreement in times the Iraqi people in most current need of unity government the Iraqi leaders show no intentions of putting Iraq interest first ,this will make the future more scary for people as the shaky security improvement getting lost rapidly
