Description: Ray Hanania is a Palestinian/Arab American journalist, author and standup comedian who began his journalism career in 1976 covering Chicago politics. He is the recipient of three Society of Professional Journalism/CHicago Headline Club Lisagor Awards (84/85, 02/03, 06/07) for column writing, and was named Best Ethnic American Columnist in November 2006 by the New America Media. Hanania is a co-founder of the National Arab American Journalists Association and a longtime peace activist who champions justice for Palestinians and accuracy in covering the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Hanania is an outspoken critic of anti-Semitism and Holocaust revisionism and the wrongful demonization of Jews and Israel. Hanania often writes that is is wrong to criticize people, but it is appropriate to debate, even passionately, political policies of any government.
